I actually have the same thought about most threesomes, usually because it so rarely comes across as balanced and it's usually my favorite character who gets the short end, but I was pretty determined to make this, if not completely equal, at least biased toward Rhodey because he gets less love than the other two. Hopefully, I accomplished that. ^_^;; I love stevetony but sometimes I find myself really missing Rhodey (and also Pepper, who didn't get much facetime in this and I feel guilty about that). (Also, also Happy.)

I sort of resent it when people make Rhodey get sparkly eyed for Cap at the expense of his long history as Tony's advocate. I think Rhodey is perfectly capable of fawning on Steve and still be willing to punch him in the mouth if he does anything to really upset Tony. So...what I'm saying was that scene was pretty much my own indulgence of personal headcannon. ^_^;; I was actually most comfortable with Tony/Rhodey in this setting (i.e. directly after the movie) and I wasn't sure how Steve was going to fit into the equation, but I think I like the end result.
