You'll have to let me know what you think of the Walter Simonson run and which ever Hulk book you pick up.
I just finished Season One and I have to say it is worth the good reviews. Season One really explains a lot about why the Hulk is the way he is and his relationship with Banner. You actually learn a bit about Bruce's history outside of the events of the origin story as well. I'll put a review together for it once I've had time to digest it more.
One of the things about Bruce and the Hulk in the comics is that there is a lot going on in his head. In the movies you only get a glimpse of that through Ruffalo and Norton's acting. In the comics you get what Bruce is actually thinking. For me it really shed some light on him as a character. I'm going to rewatch Avengers tomorrow as a result. I'm particularly interested in watching the confrontation with Natasha again and the way he acts when Steve and Tony get in that first argument.
The Steve/Tony interaction is definitely really amusing. :) The whole part they were in was great actually one of the high points of that arc.
