New Bingo Round: BINGO 2015!

The old round has come to an end; a new game begins! If you have fills you'd like to claim for the previous round, please check out here. If you're interested in getting a new bingo card, this post is the place to be!

The goal: Fill prompts to complete a line (row, column, or diagonal). Feeling adventurous? Try for a blackout (fill every prompt on your card).

  • Fills must be original and created specifically for your bingo card. They must not have been submitted for any other organized fandom challenge (such as bangs, exchanges, etc). You are welcome to use supplementary prompts from any source (including 890fifth, avengerskink, etc). Special exception: works created for the 2015 C-IM Tiny Reverse Bang can be counted as bingo fills!

  • Fills can be either fic (500+ words), art (no manips), or podfic (500+ words)

  • A fill may only count toward ONE space/prompt. This includes multi-chaptered fills.

Posting fills:
Fills can be posted wherever you like, but must be tagged with something like 'bingo', 'cap-ironman bingo fill', etc. We encourage (but do not require) you to post your fics to the comm with the 'bingo!' tag, use the #stonybingo tag on tumblr, or add your fic to the AO3 collection.

Cards and prompts: Some prompts are specific, some are open to interpretation. Let us know if you would like clarification on one of your prompts. For image prompts, you are not required to stick to the same format or universe, though you may choose to do so. (For example, if your visual prompt is a 616 panel, you don't have to do a 616 fill.)

You have the option to include KINK prompts. Sorry, we are not allowing omissions. If you receive a prompt on your card that you don't know or dislike, just work around it. Randomness and risk are part of the fun!

EDIT (for clarification): Some prompts are related to a format type, such as 'writing format: outsider pov', 'art format: line art', or 'podfic format: atmospheric'. You get to pic what type of format prompts you'd like to include. Don't worry, if you choose not to include (for example) art format prompts, you can still draw stuff for fills - you just won't get those specific prompts on your card.

SAMPLE bingo card

To receive your STONY bingo card, leave a comment with answers to the following:
Username?
Kink or no kink?
Fic, art, or podfic (select at least one)?
(EDIT for clarification: This refers to 'format' prompts only. Regardless of what you choose, you can still use any of the three to fill prompts. Please see above for more detail.)

Your card will be posted to as a reply to your comment, so if you comment anon, be sure to check back. Due to time zones and stuff, it may take us a day or two to respond. You may request a second card once you have completed a line on your first card.

This round will end January 31st, 2016!

Awesome, we love to introduce new people to more stony canons! :D Here's your card!

The IRC is where we have our weekly chats - there's one going on right now, actually, so if you want to check it out you can look at this post (http://cap-ironman.livejournal.com/1455110.html) for how to join, and there's a a bunch of us in there. There's usually people around most of the time throughout the week, too. I can't actually remember what the acronym stands for, I have to admit :P someone else in the chat might know, though! (I think the 'r' stands for 'relay'?)

Thanks!!! Oh, this looks like fun :D

Ah, gotcha. I hadn't realized the chat had an acronym lol.

(am I allowed to ask where the pic prompts are from?)

[identity profile] teyke.livejournal.com 2015-08-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, it's just the platform the chat takes place on - like AOL, MSN, etc. (I'm dating myself, aren't I...)

You certainly are! Ummmm, it would probably work better if you asked about specific pics, there's a lot of them and honestly I couldn't give you issue numbers for all of them, but we could probably crowdsource it :P With the exception of the quinjet and the lego pics, though, they're all from some sort of canon.

Dating yourself wait what?

The ones in my card are the ones I wanna know, btw.

[identity profile] teyke.livejournal.com 2015-08-01 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Dating myself ie showing myself as out of date because no one uses AOL or MSN anymore?

Thaaaaat would make sense :D All of yours from 616 canon, I believe, but since 616 canon is enormous and I'm not really an expert, I went to someone who is! [livejournal.com profile] iloome identified the bottom one as being from Captain America V4 #27 where there was a storyline about wasp robots and Tony had to stop his heart - not to be confused with the Madripoor storyline that I originally thought it was from, where there are also wasp robots and Tony has heart issues. The broken shield one I thought was from the vibranium cancer storyline, but iloome pointed out Captain America V3 #15-16 on the slashy moments list: '100. Tony spends roughly eleventy bazillion dollars scouring the ocean for Steve's shield. When it turns up broken, he stays up all hours trying to fix it.' So it sounds like it's from there, although that specific image isn't in the screencaps we have. (EDIT: iloome looked it up and confirmed it's in 15!)

And we're split on the facepalming one, I think it's Tony facepalming out of frustration because he does do that at times, but iloome thinks it may be from CW with Tony being sad. I'm going to have to ask [livejournal.com profile] navaan to weigh in, I think, since these three images all came from her :D

Second Edit: Navaan's weighed in, and iloome got it, it's post-CW from Avengers/Invaders #5!

As I understand it though, you don't have to write it for the canon of the picture or necessarily what is actually happening in the picture. Just what the image makes you think of for a story.

Dating as in like anthropology date like date in time okay gotcha, I totally thought you were saying dating as in like going out with yourself and got confused but now I got you. and man, I remember that but I'm still kind of a baby. Those were some different days, weren't they?

Merci for looking those up but woah how is there a storyline that actually involves the shield being broken? that's beyond not cool I'm very not cool with that

We can do AUs though right, and it doesn't have to be in that universe? So I could just do something involving pieces of something that looks like Steve's shield?

Wow, okay. Just saw the other comment below this which says exactly that. Niice. *facepalms*

Again, thank you!!

There are actually several story lines involving the shield being broken, dented or disintegrated. Steve gets it back each time fortunately. If you are interested, the fan run marvel.wikia has a page on the history of the shield (http://marvel.wikia.com/Captain_America's_Shield).

It amazes me how far down in the history the Molecular Man incident is. That was the incident where Steve first found out Tony and Iron Man were the same person in 616. Also, it is the origins of the infamous red thong, which was all Tony was wearing under the suit apparently. :P

Tony was as horrified as you about the shield being broken.

DISINTEWHAT

wow. wow wow wow. my worldview is like. different now. okay then. thank you for the link! and for the thong origin story because I have been vaguely wondering about that for a while now lmao.

I imagine nearly anyone would be!

and they made sure to put that in aou, too, in Tony's vision/perception/mind manipulation thing wherein everyone was dead, and I bawled like a baby when I saw it and my dad looked at me like...it's a shield aren't you more worried that the people are dead and I was like but dad it's marvel almost no one really dies but THE SHIELD it was a very interesting whisper conversation lol.

[identity profile] teyke.livejournal.com 2015-08-02 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
It is horrifying when the shield breaks. Therefore Marvel likes to make it break a lot D:

Anyway, just to confirm, yup, it doesn't need to be from the same storyline, or even the same canon. It just has to be something inspired by the image. You could have MCU Tony trying to make Steve a giant shield-coloured cookie and failing miserably or something, if you so wanted. (Actually that would be a pretty good replica for a cookie, except for the part where it's broken... sorry, I'm having cookie cravings atm.)

*screams* like in the comics they actually do that a lot what? I'm so much more horrified with the world right now gah.

Nice :D and OMG have you ever seen those cookie cakes????? o h m y g o s h

oh no I know where this is going

[identity profile] teyke.livejournal.com 2015-08-02 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
\o/ I am looking forward to this :D

I believe both you and iloome are right about the shattered shield image. I'm pretty sure Tony scouring the Atlantic and finding the shattered shield is the start of the "Vibranium Cancer" storyline.
