Tony: I don't have my armor, I guess I'll just be a billionaire philanthropist.
Steve: Genius, billionaire, philanthropist; you'll figure something out.
Favorite Steve/Tony universe: AA and MCU, bc I understand those :D Also Noir, but I don't understand that one quite so much (and I have so many questions about comics pls god).
Rec a Fanwork: Recent - Find Yourself Some Truth (Carrying the Shield) by Navaan. Listen, who do I need to fund to to make this an official comic run?
All time: Be No Stranger (All Your Saints and Soldiers Remix). I cri everytim, and I never cry.

Omg thank you!! OK ok, let's see if I even have coherent questions...where can I find what happens to Tony after Civil War I? I read till the end of Director of SHIELD, but I'm not sure what comes next?...the 5 Nightmares issue? Which comics does Steve come back to life in? Is there really an arc where Tony is Director and Steve is a SHIELD commander or is that fanon? What about President Cap? How does Superior Iron Man even end?

All good questions! I didn't start actively collecting comics until the Hickmanvengers run, so most of the rest I've had to backtrack on my own. So after the end of Civil War I, you can follow Tony in Director of SHIELD, but he also pops up in the Might Avengers (not as much obs, but this is the run where Ultron gives him boobs, so I always endorse it). After that there are a bunch of miniarcs and The 5 Nightmare Issue is the beginning of Matt Fraction's run as author in 2008 (he's my absolute fav. His Hawkeye run is incredible)The next major event is "Secret Invasion" followed by his time on the run in "Dark Reign" and his comeback in "Siege" (this is where he and Steve meet again and it's followed immediately by Avengers Prime) then the "Heroic Age" begins and I'll list more if you want because there is so much omg.

I'm not sure which issue Steve comes back to life in, because I'm still working my way through all the Captain America comics. The first time you see him in Avengers/Ironman again is during the "Siege" event, I'm pretty sure.

As far as I know, Director Stark and Commander Rogers existing at the same time is just fanon.

President Cap exist in The Ultimates, which is an alternate universe (Earth 1610) where the Avengers are called The Ultimates. It's my fav verse I can write you pages about it if you want to know more, and in general I recommend it to people wanting to break into the comics. But the specific arc with Pres Cap is called "Divided we Fall, United we Stand"

Superior Iron Man gives me such mixed feelings because on the one hand I refuse to believe the other Avengers would just leave Tony all inverted and immoral, but on the other hand it gave us the pretty silver armor and pretty naked Tony and giant orgy. The run itself ends with everyone (pepper) abandoning evil asshole Tony to be all sad and alone and unloved while Pepper does everything in her power to trash Tony's rep and keep him from controlling everyone with his fancy new tech. It's up in the air wtf happened in Secret Wars and the aftermath in regards to which Tony we're left with, but before that begins Earth 616 ends with Tony, still, presumably evil.

Thank you so much!! I looked on the labyrinth that is the marvel wiki and turns out I did read through end end of Dark Reign for the IM comics. The Stark Disassembled arc sounds kinda tedious tbh, so I might skip right to Resilient and Seige :D Incidentally, I have already read Avengers Prime, bc who hasn't, but I will return once I've caught up and we can talk about the Heroic Age!

Meanwhile, the wiki says the issues where Cap comes back post CW might be Captain America: Reborn (http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_America:_Reborn_Vol_1)

I have also read Ultimates and President Cap is coming back to me! I actually really liked Ults despite The Way Some Characters Are in it, but I stopped short before Ultimatum. Maybe I should pick it up there, because Ults is the most SteveTony interaction we got in any run I feel!

I also kind of liked Superior IM too! Yeah, it was weird that nobody was around to ask about Tony, but I figured they had their own problems. In the specific arc itself, we see Tony ends up alone, but I remembered Avengers issue #44 of Hickman's run, he fights old!Steve and unibeams in the face. That was the last issue before Secret Wars, so I assume he died...? Man, tracking these down is so much work, but how I need my content T.T

Awesome! Comics are really confusing because of all the different runs and multiple #1 issues and crossover arcs so it's always so hard to figure out what you need to read and what you've already read. You'd only be missing five issues i think if you skip Stark Disassembled and you can mostly piece together what happens from the following arcs.

ahh that's right. It makes sense that the arc where he comes back from the dead is called "reborn."

I love Ultimates so much, specifically because most of the characters are written as complete and utter asshats and Thor is a hippie. I'm kind of annoyed that Ultimates ended after Secret Wars and wound up mashed together with Earth 616 and I'm hoping that since they still have an "Ultimates" title going it will somehow come back as a separate universe again. Ultimatum is pretty wild and I'm very fond of Doomsday just because I wasn't expecting the villain of that arc. I like the reconstruction arc following President Cap taking office too.

Yeah. The whole end of everything/ Secret Wars/ start of All New All Different, is very confusing. Presumably, when Old!Steve and Tony fight, they die along with Earth 616, but end up jumbled with Earth 1610 in The End during the Secret Wars. After Secret Wars it reboots, but it's still really up in the air if 616 is back or if it's still a mashup or something new. I'm leaning towards mashup since Miles Morales is there as well as The Maker from 1610. When I went to the Marvel panel at NYCC last year all the questions regarding what exactly happened after Secret Wars were kind of brushed aside with lots of shrugs, so not even most of the other writers really know what Hickman was thinking

Ohhhh, have fun. This is probably still the story that I'm proudest of finishing ever. I can't believe I wrote WWII adventure... I hope you like it. :D

I found it can be very easy or very hard to write Noir fic. The first attempts I made short and focused more on the romance, so that I could get a feel for the setting. I watched a lot of pulpy movies and movies with WWII setting and read up a lot on the general theme. I am a bit of a history buff, so some knowledge was already there.

I love pulp and rereading or discovering old pulp novels has actually been the best to get a feel for the verse, if you are not that big on the history studies.

We can make a little Noir workshop at some point if you're interested. I always loe talking about the verse and how to make ideas for it real. XD I have a whole list of Noir ideas sitting in my idea folder and I don't know where to start. I hope you get into it! It's a verse of so many possibilities. :D

Ooh a Noir workshop would be great!! (I'm have no experience with workshops, but I'm sure I can get up to speed for the sake of Noir :D)

I haven't run one before, but I used to take part in them in other fandoms and comms. So I think we could get something fun worked out. :)

The more the merrier! We might even do it on the comm... As soon as I've freed up some time.

Steve/Tony's relationship in AA is so good and healthy and supportive, it just makes me want to cry.
