I still can't believe that Steve rode Tony like that. And hey, futbol. If Steve and Tony (and the other Avengers) were footballers, who do you think they'd support and what positions do you think suit them? I had this discussion on Twitter the other day. :D

The best part are how Steve's legs are. He's totally going "YIPPEEEE" and enjoying himself.

My headcanon would put Steve as a midfielder like Zizou was-- he could keep everyone going, glare the opponents into submission, and also headbutt as needed *cough cough* Haven't really thought about Tony much tbh. Forward? Running back and forth a lot screeching at people to keep up the pace until Steve grabs him by the back of the shirt and shakes him to stahp.

Haha yeah, that's the best part!

Oh, a Zizou comparison! I felt torn because I saw Steve and Tony as both midfielders and strikers, but I wanted them to be a legendary, unstoppable strike duo. :P But they both have the intelligence and vision to be midfielders imo, just different ones. I can see Tony as a creative striker and Steve feeding him balls (and telling everyone to be in the places he wants them to be). Either way, I see them both as the playmakers of the team!

Mostly, it's the other characters' positions that are giving me the most trouble although I think I'm going to have Bruce be a defensive player of sorts.

I agree the comics can be confusing. I like what I've seen but they're even more angsty and dramatic than the movies so I just stick with MCU for now lol

It helps that the comics aren't so different in outrageousness from the movies, so at least no one gets lost reading fic. There's just so much of the stuff, man. Everywhere. *waves hands*

Yeah, I've read some 616 Steve/Tony fic and it's actually not that confusing even if you're not super familiar with the source material. I can generally get the basic idea even if I'm not currently reading the comics.

That's actually how I got into reading comics! I read 616 fics and read up on the things I didn't know and eventually got so invested in the characters and stories that I started reading. I haven't read comics in a long while though.
