Friday Fanwork Recs: Marriage & Food
It’s Friday, which means rec time! Each week, we're offering you the chance to submit your favourite fics and other fanworks for our two themes. Self-recs are welcome and of course you can still make new recs once Friday has passed!
This week, theme #1 is ‘MARRIAGE’ -- In the spirit of this community's recent union, give us your favourite marriage-themed fanworks. Steve and Tony getting married on a dare in Vegas? Officiated by Thor during battle? Grand reception in matching tuxedos?
Theme #2 is 'FOOD & COOKING' -- Chef AU? Steve and Tony attending cooking class together because neither of them can fry an egg without setting something on fire? Do you maybe have a recipe to share that just screams Steve or Tony?

Comment: Don't let the last post date deter you. This is possibly my favorite marriage of convenience/fake marriage fic. I love mafia AUs and combining that with marriage of convenience/fake marriage AND the Ults universe? I was sold. Rian's writing is amazing as well, and there's just so much angst. I love her Steve and Tony in this and love how angry and passionate their relationship is. I NEED EVERYONE TO READ THIS FIC, WHETHER THEY READ ULTS OR NOT. SUFFER WITH ME. I always go back to it. This is the fic that I would've aggressively bid on or created a pod bid for had she participated in STH. Hopefully one day she'll be able to finish it when she has some more time on her hands.

Comment: I haven't read this in a while and I'm sure everyone's read this by now, but still, I'm a sucker for Lord Tony and soldier Steve especially when Tony knew Steve—and loved him—when he was tiny. Foxxcub is so good with angst, and I long for the day when she writes another Steve/Tony fic, but it seems that she's long since moved on from the fandom. But let me dream for a while.

Steve runs a food truck and has been branded a hipster, much to his chagrin. He's just trying to make good, real food and help out the less fortunate along the way, okay? There are many delightful stories here to sample, and one 74K word masterpiece co-written with scifigrl47 that crosses over this AU with an AU version of the DJ AU. (If that doesn't make sense to you, just know that Tony has a kid.) This story, in particular, cameos Marvel's female characters fabulously.
