Brother Odd. I love Dean Koontz's rapturous purple with embarrassing, unironic no-hetero crush-love.
My non-fiction read from last week, H is for Hawk, about a falconer's time as an austringer in the year following her father's death, is highly recommended for everyone who writes Steve-ish fic. Not only does its major subplot provide a deep and unexpected window into the loneliness of the mid-20th-century homosexual, the scenes where the author teaches the goshawk chick not to be too terrified by her handler to eat make my fingers itch to write h/c with Bucky, maybe in the context of "I love him so much, but he's my dear friend's ex" prompt posted recently.
Also, tomorrow I start my Marvel.com subscription. SO EXCITED to follow up on everyone's juicy recs!
