Friday Fanwork Recs: Harry Potter & Villains
It’s Friday, which means rec time! Each week, we're offering you the chance to submit your favourite fics and other fanworks for our two themes. Self-recs are welcome and of course you can still make new recs once Friday has passed!
This week, theme #1 is ‘HARRY POTTER AU’ (suggested by itsallAvengers on imzy) -- The AU that can spark fistfights before anything has been created, because what house are Steve and Tony in? Steve Rogers, Captain of the Quidditch Team? Tony Stark, way too fond of Muggle technology? Auror Steve Rogers enlists the help of borderline obsessive Wandmaker Tony Stark?
Theme #2 is 'VILLAINS' (suggested by
neurotoxia) -- Whether the villain in your recs is just particularly good, a fic that is narrated by a villain, a podfic where the speaker gets the tone of a villainous Steve so right, or a fanart portraying villain Tony in an especially chilling way. Anything that comes to mind when you hear the word villain is welcome!Please use the following format for your recs (you can just copy & paste this):

Aparecium: Tony cares too much. He's clutching at his coat like it can shield him from some unknown horror. It's mortifying, and silly, and he fervently wishes for a time-turner so he could just go back an hour, maybe two, and avoid the incredibly painful awkwardness that this conversation is likely to turn into.
Leviosa: Tony Stark and Steve Rogers attempt to found a School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the American Colonies. The rest of the staff just tries to stay out of the way of the flirting and arguments.
Comment: This is my favourite HP AU ever and one of my favourite series in general. It's my comfort read. Steve and Tony try to start a school of magic in the US and I love all the backstory, but even more than that I love their relationship. It's just so real and amazing. ALSO, A WIZARD TONY. I LOVE A WIZARD TONY.

Author summary: Iron Man has stolen the Infinity Gauntlet, and Steve wants to know why. As the Avengers track his movements, and his behavior continues to get more erratic, Steve begins realize that there is more to this than Iron Man is willing to let on. Captain America and Iron Man have history, and in all that time Steve has never truly seen him as the supervillain SHIELD branded him – until now.
Basic knowledge of the incursion story arc is helpful to follow along, but the story deviates enough that it’s not necessary.
Comment: One of my fav incursion-arc stories that don't really focus on the incursions at all. Bonus not-really-a-villain Villain Tony Stark+ Identity Porn.

When he escapes, he sets out to ruin Stane as completely and ruthlessly as he can, playing up his PTSD and quitting his job to destroy Stane quietly from the outside. He also picks up a teaching job-all Pepper's fault-and oh, right, becomes a supervillain. Okay, that one was Tony's fault, but it was totally an accident.
In the meantime, a certain Capsicle is defrosted a year early, and is assigned the task of capturing the notorious Iron Man. It's not going particularly well, if the embarrassingly high number of times he's been kidnapped in the past six months is any indication. When SHIELD decides to help him "adjust" by getting him a teaching job, Steve is skeptical; but then there's Tony, and Steve finds he doesn't mind the 21st century so much after all.

Now… Now he may have the perfect and final chance to make Tony stand with him, even if he won’t ever have what he really wants.
Comment: I love this one. Steve is creepy and chilling and navaan writes him so well. And Tony, oh god, poor Tony. This is quality Evil.
