Attention, all bingo players! Coming August 1st, we're going to be officially closing the old bingo round and opening up a new one, which means you've got about a month and a half left to fill in your current cards. After the round closes, be ready to submit your cards! In the spirit of some old-school LJ-style bingo, we'll be handing out banners, icons, and/or certificates for completed rows, columns, diagonals, and the awe-inspiring BLACKOUT.

A refresher on the rules for qualifying fills:

• Fills must be original and created only for the bingo challenge: IMPORTANT ADDENDUM: We're creating a limited-time-only exception to this rule for art or fic that is created for the TinyRB! Provided your TinyRB entry or response meets the other rules below and fits with one of the squares on your bingo card, you can also use it as a bingo fill. EDIT II: This rule applies to organized fandom events, such as exchanges, bangs, etc. You are welcome to use prompts from anywhere, including from sources such as Avengerkink and 890fifth.


• Fills must be posted before the end of July 31st (in the timezone of your choice: so long as somewhere in the world it wasn't yet August when you posted it, you're golden)


• Fills can be posted wherever you like (although we encourage you to post to the comm!)


• Fills can be either fic (500+ words) or art (no manips)


• A fill may only count toward ONE space/prompt. This includes multichaptered fills.


• EDIT II: If you posted a fanwork during the current round that meets all requirements but was not tagged as a bingo fill at the time you posted it, you can still claim it for scoring for this round only. Next round we're gonna ask that you tag it as a bingo fill when you post it.

The submission post will go up July 31st. If you've lost your card, you can find it here. If you don't have a card for the this round, that's also when we'll have a new post for requesting cards. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out the Tiny RB--artists, remember to submit your art for the Tiny RB by June 24th!

Before the new round goes up, we're also examining the prompt list for changes or additions, and would to know about like any feedback or ideas you have. The list of prompts for the currently closing round can be found here (please note that 'Image:' prompts become images from canon on the cards). If you have any suggestions, please let us know in the comments of this post. In addition to the art-style and fic-style categories, in the next round we are also adding in podfic-style: come August, if you'd like to consider podficcing for bingo, you can specify that you're open to podfic prompts being included on your card.

So get ready, get set, and prepare to call out BINGO!


Edit: No new cards will be given out before the next round. Per the comm vote, the next round will last for six months, aiming to close on January 31st, 2016. If you miss a prize on this one, we're also planning prizes for that one, too!

Official Comm news:

It's been a busy month here at cap_ironman! We've had 29 teams post for the Reverse Bang Challenge (keep an eye out for a round-up post in the near future), Big Bang writing is getting underway (click here for the most recent chat post), and we've got a few other events gearing up in the wings. Teyke has created a community calendar (woo!), now linked in the sidebar, so that you can all see the general schedule of events we have planned so far.

If you missed the announcements, we've got a new summer event this year: The Tiny Reverse Bang! In this event (hosted primarily on tumblr, but you don't need one to participate!) artists create works based on a selection of themes and post them as inspiration for any writer who feels like participating. Fic should meet a minimum wordcount of 250 words to participate, and the themes for art this year are Determination, Toys, Treasure and Imperfection. The art submission deadline is June 24th and posting for writer participation will begin on June 28th. Check the Guidelines for more information.

Other comm events this summer include Rec Week coming up in July (look for more information on that soon!) and the Cap-Ironman Bingo challenge. We've got some rewards in the works for people who complete their bingo cards before August 1st (the start of the next round). Since it is a first-year event, Tiny Reverse Bang fics (and art!) will be allowed as bingo entries, but works created for other challenges cannot fill your bingo squares. Remember that the minimum wordcount on bingo fics is 500 words, and for art, manips are not allowed.

Sidenote: If writers are interested in seeing any of their fic podfic'd OR if you are interested in making some podfic yourself, there are lists for that! Here is an lj sign-up post for authors giving permission to record, and this is the fanlore page of authors who have given blanket permission to podfic any of their works.

Marvel news:

For comics, Superior Iron Man ended on June 3rd with Issue #9, Battleworld started with Ultimate End on May 20th and June 10th and Secret Wars will continue with Civil War #1 on July 1st. Looking ahead, I know I'm excited about 1872 premiering on July 8th. Marvel has also announced that Bendis will write the Iron Man solo title this fall, and we have a discussion post here to talk about the interviews and concept art.

On screen, Avengers Assemble is still going strong, with a new season (renamed Avengers: Ultron Revolution) announced for next year as the current season picks up again on July 5th, and Marvel continues to tantalize us with glimpses of Captain America: Civil War (the latest news being about the growing list of cast members).
