We love every version of Steve and Tony!
Are they breaking up, making up, taking those first tentative steps towards a relationship, grieving over the other, firm friends, tragic lovers? Are they just starting out their heroes' journeys, well-established figures in the superhero community, old and retired? Have they been genderswapped, bodyswapped or de-aged?
Are they from Avengers Academy, Bullet Points or MCU? Are they inspired by canon but put into completely AU settings—space, medieval, dystopia, modern no-powers, regency?
We want to encourage creators to explore new settings and characterisations for Steve and Tony, and so we bring you a new ongoing fest: Cap-IM Universe Medley!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
There are a few moving parts to this fest, with several ways to get involved and the opportunity to earn a badge! Every month on the 15th, we will post an intro to the universe of the month.
UNIVERSE MEDLEY:
If you post a SteveTony work set in the universe of the month during that month, congratulations! Share it on a Cap-IM community platform, add it to the AO3 Collection and BAM! You've participated!
UNIVERSE THEMED PROMPT FEST:
Got inspiration? Fill out our prompt form to inspire creators! You can also come along and fill a prompt for the universe of the month, or two, or three… the sky's the limit! (And when we say create a fill, we mean anything from a fic to a moodboard to a reclist—check our participation guidelines below)
UNIVERSE REMIX CHALLENGE:
Like to remix or see how people remix your own works? Awesome! Sign up for the opportunity to remix works all year long—the challenge is that each month, your remix has to be set in a specific universe! This includes remixing a work already set in that universe, as long as that part doesn't change during your transformation of the work.
RUN A MINI-CHALLENGE:
Love a universe with all your heart and have an idea for a flash challenge that can wrap up in a month? We'd love to see it! Get in touch with the mods to claim a month or ask for a hand in getting the rules set up, and you can run it oncap_ironman's community platforms! The cap-im mods can also support you in modding the mini-challenge.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
You have the opportunity to leave prompts throughout the year to inspire creators! You can create works inspired by any of the prompts for the universe of the month, or get your inspiration elsewhere! Regardless of whether it fills a prompt or not, as long as it abides by our General Cap-IM Event Guidelines and is set in the universe of the month, your work can be posted as part of the Universe Medley Fest.

SIGNING UP
Signing up to Universe Remix does not obligate you to remix any work. Likewise, you are not guaranteed a remix for one of your works if you sign up.
There is no sign-up deadline for this challenge; you may join at any time during the year.
You must provide the following information in your Request:

In this field, provide a link to your SteveTony fanworks for potential remixers. This can be a link to your AO3 profile, a Tumblr tag on your blog, etc. Please do not submit AO3 filtered links as they do break.

If you would be happy to receive a remix of your work in languages other than English, please list those languages in the "Additional Info" section. Please note that this is optional, and we cannot guarantee that your work will be remixed into a different language.
Sign up to have your works remixed here
Once you click 'Submit,' your sign-up will appear in the Collection as a Request for any participant to see and claim. After your Request goes live, please do not delete it until the next universe month begins. This is so that someone working on a remix of your work for that month won't find that your Request has suddenly disappeared.
In your Request, you cannot specify how you want your works to be remixed or limit any potential remixers. This is not a gift exchange—remixers are creating a work that is new and their own, rather than catering to the tastes of the original work.
REMIXING A WORK
You can only remix someone else if you have signed up to Universe Remix, and you can only remix people who have also signed up. There's no penalty if you can't find anything that inspires you; this is a no-pressure challenge! Check out our How to Remix Guide for a refresher on what makes a remix.

The challenge is to remix a work into the universe of the month. If you find a fanwork you want to remix, you can "claim" the Request to signal your intent to submit a fill. Claiming is not a requirement, and a Request can be claimed multiple times by multiple participants. If you're interested in remixing the same Request multiple times, you can only "claim" it once on AO3, but you can still post multiple remixes inspired by the Request to the AO3 Collection.
Please link to the original story as a related work when posting on AO3, under the 'Associations' section: "This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work." Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found here in our AO3 Guide.
Do not use your remix to bash the original work or attack the creator. Do not make fun of their works, kinks, side pairings, etc. The challenge is creativity—rise to it!
CREATING A FANWORK
You are encouraged to create as many works as you like across as many different mediums as you like! This is the challenge to try something new, stretch your creativity, and check out other versions of Steve and Tony. It's low-stakes and fun: there are no minimum fill requirements.
*What does endgame mean?
For works that contain multiple relationships featuring Steve or Tony, Steve/Tony must be the only romantic relationship featuring Steve or Tony at the end of the work.

To pick up a prize for completing one of the fest's milestones, please fill the form for each universe for which you reach a milestone (i.e. if you post a new fanwork for 1872 month, make a submission. - In cases of co-created works (i.e. where multiple people collaborated to create a single work. RBBs and BBs do not count as co-created) and podfics that a creator has made of someone else's work, you can only remix the work if all its creators are signed up.
- For this fest, works can be crossposted as Cap-IM STONY Bingo fills as long as they fulfill the Bingo requirements.

ANONYMOUS POSTING
If you don’t want a Universe Medley Fest work directly connected to your AO3 account, you can:
- post the work as an anonymous comment on that month's Dreamwidth announcement post
- post it to the Medley AO3 Collection AND the Anonymous AO3 Collection.
- This means your work will remain anonymous for as long as the Anonymous AO3 Collection is set to “Anonymous”. Be aware that people looking at your profile will be able to see that you have work(s) in the “Anonymous” collection, and could deduce the fandom from your list of fandoms and potentially link the work back to you.
- email your work to the event mods and we can post it on your behalf using our Cap-Iron Man mod account.
- post and then immediately "orphan" the work.
- These two methods mean that you will not be associated with the work in any way, but you also won’t get any notifications for kudos and comments.
