Welcome to a new edition of the Cap-Iron Man Community Newsletter! Folks, there is only a month until the Big Bang draft submission deadline hits, so make sure you're ready. We've travelled back in time to 1872 and the Wild West for our Universe Medley fest, pledges are still ongoing for our mid-year Alphabet Challenge, and a new round of STONY Bingo! has begun. Keep an eye out for the Round 1 prize post, and an 1872 mini-event coming your way 👀

This newsletter gives you an overview of what's been happening at cap_ironman, which upcoming Steve/Tony events to look out for, and a round-up of all the wonderful things that our lovely Steve/Tony creators shared with us since the last newsletter.

• The Cap-Ironman Mid-Year Fanworks Alphabet Challenge 2021 creation period ends on August 23—still plenty of time to make a pledge! How does it work? Find out here.


• The 2021 Big Bang draft submission deadline is September 15. Check out our event guidelines here—and don't forget that this year, podficcers, fanvidders, manip and gif artists can all claim summaries!


• It's 1872 Month until the end of September 15! Creators to post and share works themed to this universe—no minimum requirements, and all worktypes and collabs welcome.


• 2021 Rec Week happened in July, and now we have hordes of lovely new recs to browse through! Need something to read, watch, listen to or enjoy? The cap-ironman community's got your back.
  
• The masterpost for Fall Backwards, the flash exchange held for Avengers Assemble month, has been posted. Enjoy all the wonderful AA-inspired fanworks! Remember to leave kudos and comments 💜

• Round 6 of Cap-IM Comment Bingo is ongoing, and you can request a card here throughout the round.


• A new round of STONY Bingo has started; you can request a card throughout the round, or another card if you've already reached a bingo! Round 1 participants, stand by for the prize post.


• Don't forget that as part of the Universe Medley Fest we're encouraging people to host universe-themed mini events of their own! However, you can always advertise or host your Stony and Steve & Tony events on cap_ironman platforms — for more info check out our guidelines.

• The Aromantic Charcters Exchange is a multifandom gift exchange for works featuring aromantic and arospec characters open for writers. Nominations and sign-ups close August 22.


• The Darkest Night is an exchange fest celebrating dark themes in fanworks. Any fandom is allowed, fic and art are both welcome, and sign-ups close August 22.


• Remix Revival is a multifandom remix exchange in which you produce one "remix" fanwork (art and fanfiction are both eligible!) for an assigned fan creator. Sign-ups for the exchange close August 23—after that, the Remix Madness sign-ups open.


• All About Fluff is a multifandom and multimedia challenge that is all about fluff. The challenge runs from July 10th until August 31st, and you can post whenever you wish during that time.


• The Fancake theme for August is Polyamory. Fancake is a thematic recommendation community where all members are welcome to post recs, and fanworks of all shapes and sizes are accepted.


• A new round of Lights on Park Ave has begun; this is a low-pressure monthly prompt challenge. August's theme is a free-for-all of 149 prompts from the past wto years.


• The Fall Into Fall Festival invites you to post multifandom prompts until September 15. Then you have a month to create a "leaf-pile" of fills until October 15.


• The Stony Trope Bingo creation period closes on September 1. You can see the cards on on their Tumblr.


• Sign-ups for the Season of Kink is a fic- and art-based bingo challenge that accepts all types of pairings – the only requirement is that the resulting fanwork is kinky! You can request a card until September 30.


• Pinch-hits is a community dedicated to advertising pinch hits for exchanges, challenges, and other fannish events. Check it out to see how you can participate.

This monthly roundup is for all fanworks people felt like sharing with the cap-ironman Community. To have your Steve/Tony works included in the roundups, you can:

• post or announce your work in one of our community spaces: our Dreamwidth, Livejournalor the #stony-recs channel on our Discord
• post to our Cap-Iron Man Bingo Collection on AO3 or Cap-Iron Man Fanworks Collection on AO3
• leave a fill in current SteveTony Kink Meme round
• post on Tumblr or Twitter and mention cap_ironman (so that we get a notification).

When Steve Rogers walks down the runway, Tony Stark stops breathing. He must have this man as a client - he can make him the biggest movie star the world has ever known.

And then they meet, and Steve opens his mouth, and that accent nearly kills Tony. He makes Steve a bet - in six months, he can make even Anna Wintour think that Steve graduated from Phillips Exeter, and in return, Steve will let Tony sign him as a client.

Steve takes the bet, thinking he has nothing to loose.

And then he learns that the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, that he could have danced all night, and that the world will still run without Tony Stark, but goddamn if he wants it to.

When the papers get ahold of the fact that Tony Stark, future CEO of Stark Industries and soon-to-be MIT grad, is gay (he isn't, okay, he likes chicks too, he just... also likes guys) Tony knows he's going to lose everything. We celebrated Avengers Assemble Month from July 15 through August 15. What more can we say about this canon that gave us the bantering co-leads of the Avengers Team, featuring hugging reunions, undercover role play, and all the perfect SteveTony interactions we could want?
