This story was a beautiful and touching portrayal of a potential future. I was so sad for Tony, though. You completely broke my heart, to the point that I read the end of it with tears literally rolling down my face. I had to use a handkerchief to soak them up! He's...not alone, not really, not when he has Sharon and Shannon, but there's still this sense that he's spent the majority of his life in mourning, that there's always going to be a shadow over his happiness, even if Shannon makes it grow less and less over time.

Also, I will love you forever for not turning Tony and Sharon's relationship into one of bitterness and/or hatred. *hearts you*

Finally, you made me want to read the "American Dream" title! A lot. Does it have a good writer and/or artist right now? Would you recommend it?
