I also definitely have mixed feelings about this project but reading that both Michelinie and Layton will be on it makes me feel a bit more positive. I love Layton's pencils, and Michelinie wrote some of the best Iron Man plots of all time.
And as much as it makes the slasher in me pout, I can't be surprised that he's married. I mean, as much as it might seem like it sometimes, the canon writers aren't actually shipping him with Steve. *grins*
But no matter what happens in this project, I know that I'll consider it, as I do all future-stories (that aren't time travel), to be an Alternate Universe. If nothing else, canonical events in his main title will inevitably make his current timeline inconsistent with any future they dream up, so it pretty much has to be AU.
