Omg, awesome! Lol, Trajan. I have always loved his name, and I have no idea why, but it is fabulous. Also, in the span of time between writing my other comment and now this one, I started writing again and was like "OMG I CAN CALL HIM FURIUS! :D" And then I saw your comment and was like "Great minds think alikeX2!"
Yeah, mine takes place mostly in Rome with a heavy dose of Piper (which is literally just Pepper in Latin, lol) and Jarvis, who I don't have a name for yet. I was thinking of calling him "Battle Butler" in Latin just for the sheer awesome factor, haha. And Furius, and his loyal man Rufus who just happens to be the Gaul version of Dugan. And the Howling Legionaries. Oh yeah, the crack is strong in this fic. 8D
Don't worry, you are never alone in the history geekness, hehe. I spent a good 15 minutes thinking over what to call Steve because I wanted him to remain a commoner to some extent, but in making him a higher rank, it would suggest that he came from a higher class and had quite a bit of money. I was like "Stay true to the history or the character?! Arg, my brain!"
I think the worst (best) part was that I started writing this after I wrote about 7 100 word drabbles that were all historical AUs with Steve and Tony and spanned from The New Kingdom in Egypt all the way to WWII. (This is what happens when you stay up late doing art history homework with Atonement on in the background.) And I even wrote one about the French Revolution, and it was stupidly fun, haha. :)
