fic - The City Breathes
I seem to be on a bit of a writing binge. This should be it for the time being, though. Now I just have to find a way to end my Halloween prompt fic and we should be good!
This carries a massive angst warning. We're talking way more than your daily dose of angst, a la my previous fic Star. This is set after Steve's death but before Sekrit!Invasion.
The City Breathes. Steve/Tony, PG. About 1,600 words. This was written after a friend challenged me to write a story where New York City became a character more than a backdrop, because I tend to get halfway there in most of my stories anyway. Not sure if I totally achieved that. Anyway, Tony spends the evening being masochistic and beating himself up about the loss of Steve to the point of collapse.
Gracious use of various places and establishments in Manhattan, including Times Square, Midtown Comics, the Frick Collection (Avengers Mansion here), and Ray's Pizza (which one in particular is your pick, but I stand by the one on 11th being the original). Also, as mentioned before, lots of Tony needing a serious hug and then some. I promise my next fic shall be something happy and full of yay! :)
Equations of a breakdown are not an exact science.
