I loved this chapter so much. I don't particularly like Carol here, but I know enough to know that she's in character for this period of her life, and you've had to walk a fine line between being in character for her and character bashing. I think you did it very, very well. And we know that Carol pulls through, eventually. I'll be interested to see how she does it in this 'verse!
Taking a character at their lowest point and pulling them back out again is something I really enjoy doing. It's particularly interesting with Carol since so often when female characters are at a low point, it's as a result of bad writing, and is the kind of low point that's so misogynistically frustrating that the only thing to do is either ignore it, or hand wave it.
