Well I am glad you gave it a chance, and that it did not disappoint!

Iiiiiiii think he kind of assumes that sex means as much to other people as it does to him. And like, for as much of a playboy as Tony is, he tends to get pussy whipped pretty much immediately. So he gives and gives in a relationship, feeling like a commitment is being made (because who could fake sex~!), when it is not, and he ends up getting poisoned/shot in the back(although he was kinda asking for that, Kathy was pretty totally obviously completely insane)/kidnapped/manipulated/etc.
