(no subject)

So it's only a drabble - and not a very good one, 108 words argh - but my New Year's resolution is to get more involved in fandom and to write more, so there ya go. Hope you guys enjoy!

Title: A fraction of an inch to the left...
Fandom: Avengers
Characters/Pairing: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Rating: PG
Summary: Tony is hurt and Steve is with him.

The suit is battered, crumpled beneath a concrete pillar. In its cradle of red and gold, Tony's face looks very pale. His eyes are big and dark with pain. Blood flows from a dozen lacerations.

"You'll be all right," Steve says. It's more an order than a statement.

"I'll be fine," Tony agrees. Neither speech nor breathing are labored. The suit has absorbed the worst of the impact. Idiot, Steve wants to say. Show-off.

One dark eye closes in a solemn wink, and Steve moves his thumb a fraction of an inch to the left, resting it against Tony's lips until the medics come to take him away.

(I also wrote some Young Avengers - Teddy/Billy - if anyone is interested: here)

Well-written drabbles always impress the hell out of me, sketching whole scenes in just a handful of words.

This, for example, is a well-written drabble. :) "In its cradle of red and gold" is just breathtaking.

It seems to have. Maybe I should start doing that...

Cuddly Cthulhu keeps my computer safe from gremlins. :) Pwned!Cthulhu is pretty awesome too!
