I could contribute a list of some published resources, too, if people want to get really serious on research. I've got a lot of personal favorite book recs for WWII (Bill Mauldin's Up Front, John Dower's War Without Mercy, etc.), and a handful of sources on sexuality/gender for the 1920s/30s.40s, too.
