Well, I just checked my f-list, saw a post at
scans_daily about a new Marvel solicitation.....and my jaw dropped.

It´s the Sentient Armor! Really - look at the helmet-design and the glowy shoulder thing - that, ladies and gentlemen, is the Sentient Armor Design!
*flail*
Yay, I loooove that storyline. That would be so fantastic, yeah!
...also, why is Namor wearing something other than his speedo?
(Dear mods, I know that this isn´t really Steve/Tony material...but I had to do it!.
I feel the bunnies breeding. Yeah!

Probably it's an across the board thing
Personally I had to drop it, because it was just too noir for me - like, if Cap became Daredevil. I hate to say it, and I will get my chops busted for it, but Brubaker just seems to write noir. It worked for Daredevil and some arcs in the X-men that I saw, but on Cap, something rings hollow, and I can't put my finger on it. Which is LOL, because I only got into Captain America shortly before Civil War, so I can't really call myself an expert on the title.
Re: Probably it's an across the board thing
No, it's true. He does just write noir. He writes it very well, which is why I kept buying Daredevil long after I started boycotting Captain America in protest, but noir is all he writes.
And while that works brilliantly for Daredevil, and for the Authority arc he did, and even for a couple of story arcs of Captain America (the Winter Soldier arc is very good, if you can manage while reading it to make yourself forget that he introduced Winter Soldier solely as a Mary Sue whom he intended to replace Steve with - before that became obvious, when it was just Bucky 'coming back wrong,' to quote BtVS, it was a good story). But in the long run, noir is not a good match for the title. It's too dark, and though dark appears to be the only thing critics like these days, it's not what Captain America should be. It's too cynical. It's why Bucky-as-Fake!Cap doesn't work - Captain America isn't supposed to be a grim and broody anti-hero, anymore than Spiderman or Superman is.
Plus, even prior to Civil War, when Brubaker's run on the title was still honestly enjoyable, he tended to forget that Steve has a sense of humor. He does the same thing with Matt and Foggy in Daredevil, too, but it doesn't matter so much there because it's traditional for Daredevil to be depressed all the time.
