I really, really wanted to do a sort of "What If...?" style companion piece to this (http://hallidae.livejournal.com/356868.html) story of mine, but lately, I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of drawing on a regular basis, so I've been cutting way back on writing. I'd be excited to see what anyone else might be able to come up with, I don't even care what genre.

Also, I had another bunny in which Tiberius Stone ended up being completely mindwiped by the time he wakes up from the coma, either just because of what put him in it, or outside forces' meddling, and once it's proven that he's not faking, Steve attempting to help Tony cope with the fact that someone who was a big factor in his life and tried to kill him no longer has any idea who he even is. I had my own ideas about what Tony would decide to do at the end, but again, this would be up to whoever writes it.

616&Ult!verse

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Bunnies, I has two:

Where is that fic where Spidey finds a fucked-up Tony and, feeling guilty about IIM#7, he tries to pick up the pieces and then Cap somehow is alive and joins the party and together they try to piece Tony back together and then Spidey plays ~~**matchmaker**~~?
We need more Peter/Tony interaction!

Or the one where Ult!Tony loses a limb and everyone goes O_O and he's like, "It's alright they grow back." LOL!

EDIT: This post is so getting the shit memmed out of it!

Yeah, this. But from what I gather, Ultimate Iron Man came after The Ultimates that's why the canon tends not to dovetail so much. Oy.

Actually

I may... may pick up that first one with Peter Tony and Steve but I'd need to wait for the big bang to be finished since it's eating all my spare time.

Hmmm....

[identity profile] practical-puss.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
So the things I like in fanfic tend to be a little, um, undignified. Character A is horribly misjudged my all the other characters, suffers terribly and is eventually vindicated in a unrealistically public forum is a big favorite. So I understand if people mock these.

I recently read a book called Coming Out Under Fire. As might be guessed, it's about homosexuality in WW2 and it's mostly made up of interviews of veterans. Now I'm not sure how well known it was after Captain America's 'death' (the first one) that Cap and Steve Rogers were the same person. But if it wasn't generally known, wouldn't it be kind of interesting if there was an interview in a similar book about a Private Rogers this guy knew? And it's not like these kinds of books are best sellers, so it's not like everyone would know, but the information would just sort of be out there when steve came back. You could do a lot of things with it.

...I iz not klassy. I embrace this.

Ooooh... And there's, like, some up-and-coming tabloid journalist who pulls this book out in order to get, like, personal interviews with the team, but due to bad phone reception/Logan not passing on the message right/supervillains attacking, Steve ends up not meeting with her and she goes public in THE WORST way.

[identity profile] amf-wip.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Tony and the Twelve Steps, with Steve helping him along.

I can't help it, the comics completely glossed over the hard work Tony had to put in when he was starting out on the wagon...

[identity profile] practical-puss.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, can I second this? That would be great, and it's one of those ideas that can be 200 words or 2,000.

But to be fair

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
In the comics, it really wasn't Steve that helped him along per se, there were other lesser characters who propped Stark up. In addition, Tony flew out to California (was it when he founded the west coast avengers, my mind is muddy) and he met up with Henry Hellrung (after being sober on his own for five days, I think) who became his sponsor for AA.

But still, good looking out.

Prepare for weirdness!

What If: Ult!Spidey and 616!Spidey had an accidental meet and greet?

My favourite bunny has been kinda jossed but oh well... OK, post-CW, Steve is dead, Tony is emo and up pops shirtless, longhaired 1602!Steve. Turns out that in 1602!Steve's verse the Registration side lost and his Tony was killed in the final battle which, combined, led to the crapsacky future world of 1602. Both are very surprised to see the other and angst and shirtless Steve lead to smexing. Flash forward a bit, 1602!Steve and 616!Tony are in a serious relationship, stuff is less crapsacky, 616!Steve pulls a Lazarus and wanders in to find his best friend making out with a shirtless version of himself! ZOMG!
Please, someone take this! It won't leave me alone!

Also...if anyone feels like doing a crossover: Tony/Ozymandias - their love is so Machiavellain!

[identity profile] cosmicbiscuit.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I'm curious: movie or comic canon? 'Cause movie!Ozy is considerably... um, 'swooshier' than his comic self ('Cause Snyder and subtle ambiguously!gay don't go hand in hand at all).

HELLRUNG HELLRUNG HELLRUNG

My bunny is that Tony's body is in a braindead coma in the custody of Norman, but he downloaded all his memories, skills and inventive genius to Pepper's Iron Potts armor -- basically as his last selfless bequest to the world, which kinda needs the inventiveness, at least.

But Pepper, thinking that Tony's dead, takes ownership of the situation and pastes the whole shebang into a new armor (which she builds FIAT with Tony's borrowed smarts) and it becomes sentient. And Good. And then Hellrung bobs up and she makes one for him, too. And then bad-boyfriend Sentient Armor, having had an Epiphany (and back from Sentient Armored Martyr Heaven), joins up. And then Rhodey throws in. And then 2.0 from Hypervelocity crawls out of the sea, and they all have a kickass villain-beating fest, and rejoice in being a new team.

And then they find out Tony is alive and enlist the (now remorseful) New Avengers to rescue him. And then Pepper dls Tony's personality into his feeble, wasted, abused frame, and he revives and for everyone but an aghast Tony, it's a happy outcome OMG.

Tony, for his part, freaks a bit because he'd made his peace with death and they're dragging him back into the whole mess all over agin, plus SENTIENT ARMOR WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN DOING, but he's more or less mellow and resigns himself to being alive. And thanks everyone with great dignity and humility for saving him and wanting him back.

Plus, the Sentient Armor has clearly reformed -- as demonstrated by the fact that it only half-heartedly beat the hell out of everybody who ever made Tony cry -- and Tony is all about second chances (plus Henry Hellrung is there to remind him sternly about AA's tenants of reparation), so it ends happy.

And then they all go thaw Cap and there can be a makeup sex interlude: your choice.

And it ends with a chastened Tony going to a meeting with his patience-of-a-saint sponsor Henry. Because Henry is a lamb and the hotness. The End.

Current 616!Tony visits Marvel Adventures-verse and gets confused/depressed from all the happy and the fact that him and Steve are openly dating in this world. (Because he never told his Steve how he felt)

Includes MA Avengers trying to cheer him up (by going out for ice cream or something silly like that), heart-to-heart talks with MA!Steve, and 616!Tony getting to save the day and be a hero again, regaining a little confidence in himself, and heading back to his 'verse determined to set things right.

[identity profile] slytherin-gypsy.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I second this one! I love the idea of a 616/MA crossover.

Crossover?

I have in fact been convicted of Tony/Steve, but what I have been dreaming of is a brief Steve Rogers/Jim Ellison (of The Sentinel fame) - probably about the time Tony disappeared into the bottle and would not come out for Steve, and before Jim became a cop after he came back from Peru.

*blinks*

All that muscle. All that angst. All that alpha-maleness. In one hawt place.

Dark Reign Fix-It

[identity profile] helva2260.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I was kinda disappointed that only Spiderman got to play around with the inauguration/new president thing. I was hoping they'd take the opportunity to fix the Dark Reign situation...

It would start out something along the lines of either Tony-on-the-run-with-Maria-Hill saves the inauguration instead of Spiderman, or Obama gets debriefed on the Civil War/Secret Invasion situation as well as the economy problems. He would come to realise that the previous president and his advisors have thoroughly screwed up the whole lot, and that even if the SHRA had some good intentions, its execution forced the superhero commmunity into a situation where there were no good choices. Worse, Tony Stark's actions, far from being deserving of his current scape-goat fugitive status, may have prevented the situation from descending into an all-out normal human/super-powered human schism...

...and then y'know, he (somehow!) fixes stuff and people realise Tony's not actually responsible for Cap's death or Jan's death, or the Skrull invasion. And somehow Cap gets resurrected, and everybody gets a happy ending. Except for Norman Osborn and his band of merry not-so-heroes.

Getting Steve back!

[identity profile] helva2260.livejournal.com 2009-03-16 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been toying with the idea of using the basic concept (rather than the style) of one of the northern european lost lover ballads/stories as a basis for Tony going on a quest to get Steve back (e.g. "Scarborough Fair", "The Unquiet Grave", "Hans, My Hedgehog", "The Six Swans" and similar). Or the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. I don't see it as an AU - we've had so many good fairytale AUs already - but starting from 616 canon (let's face it, Tony would jump at the chance to try and redeem himself for his perceived mistakes; maybe Thor or Loki could start the ball rolling?), and preferably with a happier ending than the originals!

Tony has to pass multiple impossible tasks and/or venture into the underworld to earn Steve's life back, and even then, it'll only work if both he and Steve can trust each other...

Re: Getting Steve back!

[identity profile] practical-puss.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
I totally support this idea, but I have to ask... "Hans, My Hedgehog?" That's, um. Not, not really something I'd been familiar with before reading the Wikipedia article and I'm now trying to imagine Steve with the upper body of a hedgehog. I'll be honest; it's not going well.

I would like a Marvel/DC crossover

Cap/Batman, Superman/Tony, any scenario you want, I'm a big fan of crossovers.

And I'm going to keep begging for a Wiccan/Cap till someone writes it.

I too think Wiccan/Cap would be hot like burning.

...I wonder if Teddy would disguise himself as Cap for Billy? Although that takes it totally out of this comm's territory.

[personal profile] muccamukk 2009-03-17 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I really want a fic set during that Captain America issue wherein Steve finds out he only has 24 hours to live (It was when the super soldier thing was fading on him), and wonders around saying goodbye to all his friends. Only we didn't see Tony. I would like to see his scene with Tony, who is, in canon, frantically trying to come up with a cure.
ext_18328: (Default)

Oy, you'd have to post some of that issue

[identity profile] jazzypom.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Just to kick start the prompt. That sounds mighty interesting.

[identity profile] northstar-rocks.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this is a super weird request probably, But i was listening to music while at work and "You can Leave Your Hat On" by Tom Jones started playing on my song list. After listening to it for about a minute i burst out laughing, because i kept seeing Tony and Steve doing the stuff in the song.... and of course right after that "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate played, followed by "Hot Stuff" by donna summers... so yeah all i could think of was steve and tony in all the songs... so if anyone feels like writing something regaurding ANY of the three songs, i think it would be pretty amusing, and very awesome :D

[identity profile] northstar-rocks.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh i forgot i should post the lyrics, for those who don't know em :)

You Can Leave Your Hat On lyrics
Baby, take off your coat, real slow.
Baby, take off your shoes. I'll help you take off your shoes.
Baby, take off your dress. Yes, yes, yes.

You can leave your hat on. You can leave your hat on. You can leave your hat on.

Go over there, turn on the light. No, all the lights.
Come back here, stand on the chair. Ooh, baby, that's right!
Raise your arms in the air, now shake 'em.

You give me reason to live. You give me reason to live. You give me reason to live. You can leave your hat on!

Suspicious minds are talking. That's right, they'll tear us apart.
They don't believe in this love of ours. They don't know what love is. They don't know what love is. I know what love is.
You can leave your hat on.

I have not enough knowledge of backcanon for the Avengers, so I can't write this:

Just-started out Iron Man (who has only recently met defrosted Steve) ends up x years in the future and a) comments on Steve looking just the same, b) acts very fanboy towards Cap so that he, being less confused than he was after his defrosting, recognizes that young! Tony has a crush on him. Young!Tony had managed to be able to hide his feelings before Cap un-confused enough to recognize them the first time, but that was *after* this.
