There are aspects of Fraction's work I enjoy (I am still buying the comic, after all). He's good at writing fucked-up characters dealing with their fucked-up personal issues. I enjoyed The Order a lot, I love what he's doing with Maria Hill (assuming he doesn't kill her, eep), and I love Iron Potts.
But when it comes to writing science and technology, it seems that he keeps trying to be much cooler than he knows how to be. He wants to write hip, edgy cyberpunk stuff, but all he knows how to do is have characters go "blahblahblahbleedingedge" a lot. He can't even convincingly fake it the way Warren Ellis does. Which is a problem when his protagonist is an engineering genius who fights evil with technology.
