The few, the proud, the... tiny.
First, it was horrible.
Then I started noticing things. Hilarious things. The authors are -playing- again. Because they can. AND they're lampooning the F#%! out of regular canon.
Now true, this is the kind of show that can get away with a lot because it's a so-called kid's show, but the co-executive producer list reads: 'Stan Lee, Joe Quesada'.
The characters have about the same powers, about the same senses of humor and weaknesses... just slightly over the top. Like- -extra cheesy.
They even do a 'fourthwall' joke about 'Queseda Joe' cheese once.
I was reminded of the various 'captured by telepath' and 'stuck in virtual reality' potlines that have been written over the years. Same characters, but a limited world.
A few other quotes caught my attention:
“Eughh, magic freaks me out... although that enchanter sure is a looker... * ”
Iron Man’s thoughts, on the subject of Dr. Strange.
Season 1, Episode 5, Enter Dormamammu!
“Inhumans... no, too out of the way. Okay, brother Voodoo, no too creepy... She Hulk? Hmm... well, maybe if it was just me...” -Iron Man trying to think of a place where the Superhero squad can spend the night after thier base is damaged.
Season 1: episode 9, Night in the Sanctorum.
(AND he hits on the enchantress at the end of that same ep.)
"Don’t get your musket in an uproar, Brew Baker, I’ll be at the
-Captain America, wearing a gray confederate-uniform overcoat.
Season 1, : episode 12, If this be my Thanos.
...You get the idea. YES, they're chibified, but there's a lot more intact personality-canon than I was expecting, and it raises the question...
If a show co-produced by Stan Lee and Joe Quesada 'outs' Tony as being Bi in a forum as silly as THIS... does it still count? (or at least unofficially confirm something we guessed about 616 Tony long ago?).
* As reign_of_rain brought to my attention, I misheard this line. What he said was 'Enchantress', not 'Enchanter', rendering my entire canon-bi point moot. Dammit.
