You know, I've often kind of wondered whether Steve burns, or tans, or does nothing at all in the sun. My (crackpot) theory is that he does tan a little (like someone else of his skin shade might). And he doesn't actually burn because his cells heal so quickly, but if he stays out too long his skin starts to tingle and itch, and it's kind of weird and annoying. So he puts on sunscreen because (1) he should set a good example and (2) he can get Tony to rub it on his back as a bonding activity.
