Even though I love genderswitch, I don't usually go for female!Steve because sad as it is, Captain America is a such a gendered character that I didn't see how anyone could make it work. I feel like I've been missing out now, and I may need to go back through the archives now, because oh. Have you ever sold me on the concept. Sarah is totally a product of her time -- that line at the beginning about convincing herself that she'd never really wanted to be a soldier hit me like a punch to the gut -- but she's still recognizable as a version of Steve. And her frustration with the role of Lady America rang perfectly true. I really hope you write more of this soon.
