TONY! College Issues!

Hi!  I've been working my brain around a college story, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any issues of Iron Man (or Avengers or Cap--anything!) that involved a flashback to Tony being in college?  Preferably 616.

Hmmm.... I am tempted to say that Tony and Reed being roommates might result in a slightly less awkward than 616! Reed and a slightly more awkward than 616! Tony.... Also, an Earth where Reed Richards is NOT Useless, and technology is a hundred years ahead of everything else.... ;p

Ha, from the above comments seems like Tony's college even is mostly stuff of hearsay... There's Iron Man Vol 3 #19, where Tony flashes back to meeting Sunset Bain in MIT.

Then there's also Vol 3 #37, where we first meet Tiberius Stone. There're some flashbacks which are clearly school but also some of pre-inheritence young-adult Tony. So those time's he's either still in college or just out of... But those flashbacks are definitely post Sunset Bain...

Also this is a bit strange but the Iron Manual has this to say about Tony's college education-

Enrolled at MIT at fifteen, Tony was mentored by Professor Theodore Slaight; later, at University of California, Berkeley, he was taught by Sal Kennedy. Tony proved to be a prodigy and completed his studies at the age of nineteen with a double master's in physics and engineering. Tony went to work for Stark Industries, but despite his incredible talents as an inventor, he had little interest in engineering and even less in business. He spent a great deal of his time romancing women and drinking with his cousin Morgan and best friend Tiberius Stone. Tony became involved with Sunset Bain, a woman five years his senior, and inadvertently gave her access to Stark Industries' security secrets. Bain funded a raid on the company and used stolen data to set up her rival company Baintronics, but the Starks could not prove her involvement in the theft.

It also calls Maya his "one-time classmate"... So there may have been some retconning going on...

In movieverse he went to MIT with Rhodey and he graduated at 17.

There are a few fic that features a 14 year old Tony running around drinking and having sex and a traumatised, 18-20 something year old Rhodey trailing behind him. (They also tend to be roommate although I don't think that was stated in the movie.)

I love those.

But any college-Tony fic is great.

Maybe Starkindustries, I have to admit I can't quite remember where I read them behond ff.net.

Iron Man 318 has flashbacks to Tony in college. He doesn't like the uncertainty principle and one of his professors tells him to be more flexible. In non-flashback, the professor is crazy, and Tony angsts about having to fight him. Or something; I only have the flashback pages saved convieniently. I'm not sure if that storyline spilled over to either of the surrounding issues or not.

No problem. I think I've read every Tony flashback written before maybe...two years ago?
The Marvel Chronology Project, btw, is a great resource for finding past appearances of various characters. The address is http://www.chronologyproject.com/ (http://www.chronologyproject.com/). It has listings with every appearance of various characters, in (more or less) chronological order. I've found it very useful for researching backstories.
