the very personal squick

Okay, when I read smut, I often enjoy it from several people's POV (why stick with one eh? although if you do it's cool too). I can totally see how hot this is from Steve and from Thor's POV, and I can totally see how hot this is from Toni's POV too, but since Toni is female in this scenario, I can't help but think about me-me-me-me-me, especially since while I have none of her responsibilities, as a woman I also have to deal with a lot of existing BS Equations.

Such as:
soft = queer = feminine = weak = No Rights For You

...and Real Woman Don't Wear Dresses is so silly, but the mindset is there for a reason. It was a long time before I admitted to myself that I do like dolls As Well As robots because I've been told that I can't like robots, I must like dolls, and it somehow came out as, if I like dolls, then I can't like robots...and when robots = male = greater freedom and dolls = female = restrictions, you can see which way I went...

Here, it's not even dressings, it's submissive role versus dominant role, it's sexplay and it's by choice, but for me, the squicky feeling is, if I enjoy this, then good god, some people are going to see it (or use it) as Me Revealing That I Don't Really Want The Vote after all! It's complete bullshit, but, it's there ya know? This is porn, it does it job well, I get aroused, and then I get squicked with What Does This Say About Me when really it's not MY problem that some people would make a problem of it though now I've internalized it as a problem I dOn'T eVen -
