Yes - iirc, in the book series he didn't actually rape the heroine, just said he might, and then thrown together survival blah blah, but they cheerfully ignore the fact he's apparently a casual serial rapist. :|

They also 'solve' the problem of them not being able to conceive together by her getting drunk, cheating on him once with a genetically compatible dude, and her getting knocked up. Her partner is nothing but delighted when she's suddenly pregnant by someone else.
