Question about Comics

So I don't know if this is allowed or not but you all are my best option here I think. See I have a niece who is about to turn 9 in a few weeks and she is struggling with her reading in school. Her teachers suggested an alternative to regular chapter books, they said audiobooks but I was thinking comics might work. They're shorter and have pictures and she thinks they're cool already. My question is this, what are some good comics for a 9 year old?
Any help would be greatly appreciated cause much as I'd like to I don't think the ones I've been reading are really appropriate, Iron Man and the Avengers may be a little much to start with at that age.
