I think I'll add in my two cents here.
Personally, when I heard Loeb was taking over the animation department at Marvel...I pretty much screamed in denial and agony. I was only slightly relieved that he hadn't had any major involvement for most of the second season of EMHs until the last chunk of episodes. If any of you have even glanced at some of his comic work, more specifically in 1610...you'd know why I have the impending sense of doom. Still, I was hoping maybe the guy would probably be a better head of animation than a comic book writer. However, when I saw this article and a couple of other articles on what Loeb's philosophy in overall story arc and such....it makes me dread the supposedly new re-vamp of the replacement series.

From what I read, the supposedly new Avengers series is supposed to be more in-line with the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Yeah, you heard right, EMHs is being tossed out so they can have a more movie-adapted hook and make it like the nu!spidey cartoon. Now, don't get me wrong...I love Spidey. But so far...this series has been way more distracting than actually entertaining. I love a good chibi-short or comic relief moment like anyone else, but the way the show is spamming it so much it's just horrible. Not to mention, the support cast of Luke Cage, Ironfist, Nova and White Tiger. >_> Really? I mean...I could probably let Cage and Rand slide since they are "New Avengers" in 616...but the others...yeah I'm not buying it. They should have made it more like the 1610 comics and have Johnny Storm, Bobby, Kitty, Marry Jane, and Gwen Stacy. But I suppose they avoided that seeing as how they killed off Peter and all...

Anyways, point is...instead of making Ultimate Spider-Man follow EMHs lead it's the other way around...which isn't all that smart. What's even more disappointing is Loeb's view of over arcing story plots. He hates how EMHs has a saga type of story telling....you know, how like season 1 kept building up to the Masters of Evil and how season 2 is building up to the Kree/Skrull war. He feels people lose interest or some other [censor censor] reason and it's best for audience to have one-shot episodes so people can jump on at any time. Why yes Loeb....that is genius! Because over-arcing story plots that build the characters, the world around them, and enrich the story is no way interesting. Just look at Avatar the Last Airbender....pshhhh, yes, pure garbage. Or how about anime shows like Naruto, D.grayman, Bleach, Slayers, etc....it's not like they had huge followings. Plus it's not like the movies use more than one movie to tell an over-arching plot...[cough]HarryPotter, Lord of the Rings[cough] Just look at the Avengers movie...it's not like THAT had any other films helping to build it's own story >_> /sarcasm

I am really trying to give Loeb the benefit of the doubt, but EMHs was good because it focused on the Avengers as a team. It gave each character proper screen time, made Jan look like a BAMF, re-vamped classic Avengers stories...I mean !@#$. Now...I'm not sure where Disney/Marvel wants to shift their focus on...but I have a heavy feeling they want to concentrate on the big three and hulk. The end. :/ saaaaaah.....maybe they'll surprise us?
