Oh my God, Dummy! I hadn't even considered that ;_; I certainly hope not. JARVIS is everywhere so I would imagine that Tony would have him backed up all over the place. He protects the ones he loves and I think JARVIS would be included in that. ...At least I sure as hell hope so. I think any robot/AI death scenes will be the end of me.

But yeah, Dummy? He's in that promo picture they released yesterday, so he's obviously still there in Malibu. And I'm not going to lie. I cried during the trailer, first watching the destruction of the armors, and then thinking about Dummy and JARVIS. (The epic music certainly didn't help there, either!)

Gotta say...the trailer made me pumped for Ironman 3 and I just hope it has the same spirit of first movie and doesn't have the sluggish dips of the second. Wow...it's like waiting for the Avengers all over again XD...is it April yet?

As for the connection to Steve...well that was somewhat a surprise. At first I thought maybe they were pulling from the Ultimate comics, but then wikipedia told me the Mandarin hasn't appeared in 1610. The only OTHER version of Mandarin we are given out of the main comic line (616) that I can think of is Gene Khan from IM:AA....but that's not bringing up anything.

So maybe I'll go out on a limb here and use one of the Ultimate-verse's main plot points. In that universe, everything circles back to the super soldier serum. Pretty much almost every super hero that comes about in 1610 is because someone out there is trying to replicate Captain America. We know this film deals with Extremis...unless I missed the memo...and I believe even in 616, if I recall correctly, Extremis was made trying to replicate the serum too. So, what if the connection is that the Mandarin doesn't admire the man behind the shield but the idea of the perfect human specimen?

I know that when 616!Mandarin dealt with Extremis he wanted to release the virus killing 97.5% of the world in an attempt to "evolve" mankind and make them "immortal" or something along those lines.

Mandarin is going to show up in Ultimates now. Some version of him is planned for the Ult!Iron Man mini that just started up.

I think this is an 'alien tech' angle on Mandarin's rings. That's was Fraction's final take on it in recent Invincible Iron Man, anyway.

I confess, my h/c loving soul is very, very happy at the indication that Tony is having PTSD after his fly-a-nuke-into-space experience. Also, the fact that he seems to be actually talking about having PTSD is major character growth for him.

If they kill Pepper, I may never forgive them.

So I just saw this trailer...not here, but somewhere else, but I couldn't stop saying "Oh sh*t, Oh sh*t, through out it. Omigod, Tony! I have a feeling, a deep seeded feeling that I been having since Avengers came out that the death knell for Tony/Pepper is coming-- which I sort of support canonly, although my OTP is Steve/Tony. My feeling about this film before the trailer was blah, but now I'm totally excited!

First... NOOOOO! Not Tony's Bots! Screw the house... where is Dummy? You? Butterfingers?! BE SAFE BOTS! OMG!

And... pretty sure that isn't an image of Cap's shield. It looks like three icons inside the circles on The Mandarin's neck in 1080HD... I'm guessing some kind of mark/port/scar that's significant somehow --- or if they went with the "alien tech" origin of the Mandarin's rings instead of the old "magic" one, then that might be an interface port for the crashed alien ship. This plays into the whole "Earth is ready for a higher form of war" thing Thor said in Avengers too. (Oh Fraction, never thought I'd actually LIKE one of your retcons... but that one does work for me.)

And they better make Killian a merge with Mallen, though it looks to me like they've gone more with a combination of "Execute:Program" and Fraction's Mandarin Extremis corruption arcs instead of a pure Extremis storyline (which is good, because I fucking loathe Ellis' handling of Tony in that story, though I did like the pure technoporn of it all...). I don't think the general public is quite ready for liquid armor in Tony's bones... LOL! Besides. SUIT PORN. WE NEED IT.

Is anyone else having decidedly kinky thoughts about Tony's Abusive Boyfriend armor again? GUH. The scenes where it gets all jealous on Pepper and then throws Tony on the ground. GUH GUH...!

Space tech would make sense, as it's probably scattered all over NYC at the moment.

I doubt they'll do actual living armour, as they have like thirty plots on the go as it is, but I do predict an uptick in Tony/Armour dub and non con.

DOH! TWO new suits. Silver/Red is the amok one (the one doing the bad stuff to Pepper, trashing the airplane, AND getting crushed under the falling house! NOT TONY); Gold/Red is Tony's suit (in the back, in the Armory). He must be trying a remote link and messes it up (or it gets hacked...). Extra angst because someone (Happy?) gets hurt.

Umm, I think the one in the background might be the suitcase armor from iron man 2 and not actually a new suit. It looks to be the 5th suit and that would be about the right number for that armor.

Uh...am I the only one who thinks that the central part of the tattoo looks more like an "A" than a star? It almost certainly *is* a reference to Steve, but it's not an exact replica of his shield.
