Cap_Ironman Weekly News, Week Ending 17 December 2012

Welcome to the [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman/[community profile] cap_ironman newsletter! Marvel's March Solicitations are out. Anyone else find the summary-as-bullet-points as annoying as I do? Although I admit I like the one for Young Avengers, which reads:
• A Fight scene, probably.

• And another one, but this time in a club.

• Plentiful feels. (aka “Meaningful emotional character beats” for people who aren’t on tumblr)

• The fakest ID in history.

Comics Should Be Good did a round-up of five times Steve stopped being Captain America.

Robert Downey Jr. has talked more about Shane Black, Jon Favreau, and Ben Kingsley.

Feel free to chat about anything in the comments here, just keep it reasonably safe for work.

Finally, if you're a new or recent member, hello and welcome! Our rules are here, and in the profile; this includes our warnings policy, so please read. If you're interested in the ship, you may want to read the Ship Manifesto, and consult the list of Slashy Moments. If you're planning to write for the comm, there are some tips on writing the pairing here, and the Avengers in general here; if you're having trouble finding a beta, or would like to offer your services as a beta, our beta list is here. If you're looking for the comm archive, it's Tales of Suspense, and it's automated - you can create an account and upload your fic. If you're looking for a particular story, why not try [livejournal.com profile] cap_im_finders? If you have any questions, you can comment here or PM a mod, that's me, [livejournal.com profile] muccamukk, or [livejournal.com profile] valtyr.

Yeah, they can get annoying. And often times, reveal too much.

There is that.

....Now I'm wondering if some of the weirder, harder to summarize comics are part of trolling the interns...

Hey, so, just wondering if anyone is a super expert in old comics things and would be willing to help out someone who's feeling a bit lost?

So I've been reading some old Iron Man stuff and I loved Demon in a Bottle, but I thought there was another drinking arc with Tony? The climax of which involves Steve carrying him out of a burning building a la Rhett Butler? Which issue does this arc start in?

I have issue #172 and 173 since I knew from the list that those are part of it. I just felt... unfulfilled after reading Demon in a Bottle because I knew there was more and I wanted to read the rest of it. Would you recommend just perusing the issues between the end of Demon in a Bottle and 172 or is most of that arc actually in the Avengers books and not the Iron Man one?

I just want to know what issues to buy/download and there are just so many comics.

So many.
