Newsletter ending 03-27-2013

Welcome back to the cap_ironman / cap_ironman newsletter.

NEWS! **links contain spoilers**
It was a sad day when Jeph Loeb Marvel decided EMH was too good to live. (EMH pre-dated Loeb at Marvel Animation, else there's a decent chance it would not have existed. He is known to dislike serialized shows, preferring stand-alone crap.) EMH was supposedly canceled to make way for a "reboot" more in line with MCU. Called Avengers Assemble, the new series will premiere July 7th.

Some interesting Captain America 2 casting news: a bad guy with a doofy name, and... not sure what to make of this one except, if it's true? Dayum.

Couple more IM3 trailers, which I'm calling armor porn and zomgspoilers respectively.

That "unguessable" Age of Ultron surprise stayed under wraps for all of, what, three issues? It has now leaked all over the place, and involves some familiar creative names, a little-known character from another comic company, and a mess of lawyers. Oh, and expect the crossover to spill into Guardians of the Galaxy #5.

I will never stop being sad about EMH *sniffles* I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!! I still haven't watched all of it, but that's a small and temporary mercy. I soon will have. I hope their new show is up to par, but dammit. As much as I love the MCU, why does everything suddenly have to match that? It's a little sad… makes the multiverse feel poorer.

I'm loving the speculations of what the handsome Mr. RR will do in Cap: WS *G* Really fun ideas there - I'm kind of in love with a couple of the options. (Trying to keep things just a little cryptic here, but beware, I won't keep doing that in later comments.)

I also highly approve of your titles for the IM3 trailers. I think I need to stay clear of the last spout of pre-release spoilers to at least get surprised a LITTLE in the cinema ;) I was almost over-spoiled for Avengers.

Of course Age of Ultron spills into Guardians. They so need to up that title's presence before making it into a major movie. Someone's betting hard on it, methinks.

I don't think they did, either. At least it doesn't seem that way. I really enjoyed the dynamics and the characters in EMH so much *sigh* *shakes fist at Loeb* I really don't like the 'dumbing down' of things either.

We'll have to keep on top of it. I really loved the "old Dum-Dum" idea and the "Coulson's dad" was cute too *G*

They really did! Damn! I'm between "cool, pretty kickass", with some "I would have preferred to be surprised by it" and "how many people have these things now?" I'm trying to stay optimistic and go "Yay, women!" at least :)

As you know, I haven't read his wacky space adventures yet. But I so hear you on the team effort there. Isn't that why there are editorial teams and editors and storylines are planned in advance? So they can fit together! Dammit, Marvel, get on the ball here. (I'm'a sticking to buying Avengers for now, I think.)

I vaguely remember her, but not enough to remember any specifics. But I know NG well enough (and like him, I should say) to have an idea. He has a distinct enough style ;) I'm not sure what she'll be doing in that story at all, really. Deus ex Machina? ;) Time will tell.

There was? Ok, that really does make for a nice hook!

Indeed…! And it's definitely an interesting love-triangle - and a very different situation for Pepper. In the trailer, she doesn't seem prepared for it at all. Maybe he's told her before it's possible, but she's clearly not ready for it. This Pepper has no RT, no experience with being cyborged up at all. I like that she gets to pull Tony's ass out of the fire, but yeah. I guess we'll see. I was discussing it with someone I RP with, who really hated the idea because 1) Pepper kicks ass just fine without a suit - and - 2) it's not fun if everyone around Tony has a suit (of course this is simplifying a long chat, but still). I think there are some good points to that. Iron Man as a title has always suffered under it always being him against some other suit-powered villain - add only suit-powered friends and… We may have a problem.

Hehe, I really like your description of her. I do wonder what they're going to do with her… What her part in the story is at all.
