Now that the reverse bang is all wrapped up, we're taking the opportunity to catch up on news before plunging back into this year's big bang.

Big Bang sign-ups are live now, and will close on June 15th. If you've already signed up, you'll be receiving confirmation over the next couple days.

We will be holding Big Bang support-group chats on IRC. The first is scheduled for Friday the 14th at 2:00 GMT. (What does that mean for my timezone?) However, the channel is up now if you'd like to connect, test it out, talk amongst yourselves, etc. Either use the client of your choice, or Dalnet's web client (right hand side where it says chat now). Choose your nick, and for channel, enter: #cap-im (If you are not joined but instead presented with a prompt, type: /join #cap-im)

Can we talk about Iron Man #11 for a minute? As in, what the hell did I just read?

Marvel is trying its hand at another "original" graphic novel line. In particular, the Warren Ellis and Mike McKone entry Avengers: Endless Wartime looks promising. Expect to see it available October 1st.

A new Mighty Avengers series launches in September. Cons: art by Greg Land. Pros: this could mean he's off Iron Man.

Adi Granov talks a bit about Iron Man 3 and Extremis.

The new Avengers Assemble series doesn't begin until July, but the first two episodes have aired early as a preview. Sadly, it's no EMH, but it could be promising on the Steve/Tony front.

The Marvel Heroes ARPG has launched. Cons: your standard Diablo-clone. Pros: Marvel universe, free to play.

Lots more Guardians of the Galaxy casting news.

I hope is just the usual "act like boyfriends so the spy doesn't catch us", I really hate the "we need to have romance in it to appeal woman/romantic people". Well, I'm a woman and I want to see fights,people being snarked, tons of feels and character construction within the comic!cannon and the MCU!cannon.

Just be careful, hate's a strong word, and there are a ton of people in the comm who both enjoy het/multiship and are quite protective of our female characters.

Snark, feels, and character construction are not mutually exclusive with romance in films, or even in action films. Winter Soldier is still shooting; it's way too early to guess at Steve and Nat's true relationship, or to suggest that it's not a coherent part of the story but slapped on to appeal to a demographic. *coughHarleyinIM3cough*

Well, I didn't say there is anything wrong with liking het or Nat, just that I, personally don't like them and prefer romantic-less action movies or movies that don't shove female characters only as romantic interest. I have the most respect for people that like het, multi involving female characters and other combos that I don't like, and I don't think my comment was offensive, I didn't say anything about why I hate het and Nat, is just a personal preference.

I know it is too early, I just would prefer that they didn't go with a romantic route. And I agree about Harley, even thought he was very cute.

Honestly, I seem to have developed a pet peeve about mandatory heterosexual romance, so I kind of know where you're coming from, I think. I agree with the shoving female characters in only for romance being an issue as well - I'd much rather have characters, that just happen to be women.

That being said, I do think that particular scene isn't a sign of romance. I may of course be wrong, but right now I'm willing to be a few units of currency on it being a "Quick, they're looking! Kiss me before anyone recognizes us!" ;)

Um, I've got another question.
Because I know next to nothing about IRC, but I've installed some program and when I type #cap-im capsicle as a channel name it shows me I'm connected with #cap-im. And when I type #cap-im capsicle on the web client you link to in the post it shows me I'm connected with #cap-im+capsicle and now I'm a little lost :( Is there a difference?
