Well, at one point in his comics, Tony gets attacked, vanished to "fetch" Ironman, Ironman comes saves the day, unfortunately wreck the building in which "Tony" is hiding, and then flies to the building to rescue "Tony", gets out of the armor and autopilot brings him to a hospital (or at least he said so)
And Armor was also carrying him bridal style....not in the classicla sense, but in the practical way.
