And In Walks Tomorrow (http://archiveofourown.org/works/750726) by Lancinate (WIP) - MCU
I'm reccing this fic for the in-depth exploration of Steve's depression, which was very hard-hitting and close to home. I'd describe it best as...brutally honest? It was sometimes incredibly frustrating and painful and full of despair, but there were still those moments of light and happiness and love that shone in-between. This is edging into TMI, but it was very cathartic for me to read when I was going through my own depressive episode.

Heed the warnings. I think that you could rec a ton of laire's fics for angst, but I'm reccing this one in particular because I really adored the story culminated into a few lines that really stole your breath away. Ouch.

Okay, so this is one of those fics that almost everyone has read, but I'm putting it here anyway because I still distinctly remember when I felt when I finished it for the first time, and that was with a horrible, sinking, empty feeling in my stomach. It's too good!

A short fic that cut pretty deep. I don't really want to say more because it's a pretty unique premise, so - read it!
