Rec Week 2015: Mournful Thursday

On our fifth day of rec week we’re asking you for all your favorite fanworks dealing with angst and dark themes. We all love Steve and Tony, but sometimes they're just not very good at being happy, are they? (And sometimes we don't want them to be happy anyway.)
Note: Please mark major warnings for your recs, (especially important for today) and if you have time, let us know why you’re reccing it!

Why rec this - This is not your everyday dark story - this is for those who like the perverse and the dark horror that you shy away from. The first chapter lures you in with a lot of sex but then it leads into such horror that you cannot look away and you're sick to your stomach hoping for Steve, but remember he's up against a genius. This isn't your every day Steve/Tony love story. It is a story of hate and obsession. If you cannot stand a dark Tony who has no morals do not read this. If you can pretend this is some other Tony (not our lovable Tony) then you can read this and CRINGE.

I'm reccing this fic for the in-depth exploration of Steve's depression, which was very hard-hitting and close to home. I'd describe it best as...brutally honest? It was sometimes incredibly frustrating and painful and full of despair, but there were still those moments of light and happiness and love that shone in-between. This is edging into TMI, but it was very cathartic for me to read when I was going through my own depressive episode.
