Choose the Top 5 Slashiest Steve/Tony moments!

So I thought to myself, how can I help promote lots of Steve/Tony squee? Because you know that there can never be too much squee. *grins* And I thought, slashy moments! The slashiest moments! And inspiration struck.

Let's see if we can decide on the Top 5 Slashiest Steve/Tony Moments.

Here's how it'll work:

1. You post a slashy moment to be considered.

All universes (616, Marvel Adventures, "What If" universes, etc.) and all titles from all eras count. Heck, if they have a moment in someone else's title entirely, it counts! Also, if there are any moments in any animated series or other media, those count, too.

If you have screen captured or scanned illustrations, those are great, but if all you've got is: "That time when they saved each other from this bad guy", go ahead and post! Hopefully we can give issue references so that others can track down moments to read in full, but don't worry if you can't remember where the moment came from. I'm sure someone here will know. *g*

2. After...awhile (why put a time limit on squee?), I'll post a poll of all the nominated moments.

3. You all vote in the poll!

And then we'll see which 5 moments get the most votes!

I fully hope and expect that folks will comment on each other's "nomination" posts. I also hope to discover new, squeeful moments I hadn't seen before! And when the poll comes out, we will all be torn apart by indecision and forced to vote for everything. *chortles*

Feel free to comment with questions! I'm at work now, so I don't have what I want to make a "nomination" post, but I'll get us going when I get home, if someone hasn't beat me to it. *g*

ETA: You're welcome to "nominate" as many moments as you like! More squee can only be good. :-)

Young Avengers - the hug and fly (that like almost everyone has in their collection or has icon'd or seen icon'd at some point where iron man is above jessica jones and is holding up cap in an arm embrace), it is so domestic and comfortable it screams long term relationship which is the greatest squee for me.

That is how I name scenes in my head, like pretty princess Defenders Luke Cage or splorsh face Cap....
Have I posted that scan anywhere?

I will post it to Cap loves tony even if sadly it is pre-tony

Tony's "It wasn't worth it" speech in The Confession. I've seen open declarations of love that were less obviously, well, a declaration of love.

And if we're not limited to one moment per person:

The dramatically backlit mouth-to-mouth in Red Zone (volume 3 Avengers, depicted in icon with scribbled hearts courtesy of MS paint).

Also, the conversation they have on "a scenic overlook" when they're making up after Armor Wars (I think it's in volume one Iron Man. Mostly, I just remember Tony's incredibly gay pink shirt).

The bit in Iron Man v4 #21 when Steve appears to Tony in a dream in order to invade his personal space, knock him around, and solve all his problems while touching him a lot.

Also, this (http://pics.livejournal.com/elspethdixon/pic/0003d71w/) heartfelt (http://pics.livejournal.com/elspethdixon/pic/0003eyyf/) conversation (http://pics.livejournal.com/elspethdixon/pic/0003f9tk/) from Captain America volume 1 #228. I swear, I've read about two dozen PWPs that opened with this exact conversation, which is only improved by the way Tony keeps touching Steve. "Find yourself a new life... (with me)"

I love the last one, and the beast bit in the middle is golden.

It's from volume one somewhere, either Captain America or Avengers (I think Avengers). My favorite part is the scene where Clint is jumping on Steve's bed to try and cheer him up.

Hey Elspeth... Where is your icon from? That's a cute moment. ^_^

I've got no idea. [livejournal.com profile] fire_tears made it.

The time in the 90s that Steve was paralyzed and dying and Tony used tech to merge with his brain and save him from the inner demons that were tearing him apart, and their combined astral visualization of this rescue looked like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v104/harmonyangel/Comics/CaptainAmerica437-FightingChanceEpi.jpg).

This scene (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v104/harmonyangel/Comics/NewInvaders00-OnceanInvader04-20.jpg) from some... New Invaders mini? From late Avengers vol. 3? When Tony casually steps in to save Steve and tell the villain just how awesome Steve is.

This panel (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v104/harmonyangel/Comics/Repulsor.jpg) from very early Avengers. (Steve is beneath those rocks, and I have the innuendo giggle reflex of a 12-year-old.)

The looks they share at the end of the second story in What If? Civil War. (See icon.)

All of Iron Man #172, the intervention issue, a lot of which was just posted to [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily today (http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/5151338.html).

I know for a fact that I can think of more, but I want to leave some for others, and those were the ones I had scans of. :)

OMG.

This post opened up a whole can of worms for me! It's ridiculous! I have a bunch of squee moments and also (for those of you who can see it) some pictures here: http://pandanoai.livejournal.com/9669.html#cutid1

On to the love-fest!

I am all in agreement on what everyone else has already said.

I totally agree with axolotl_lan. The "my b*tch rides on this hip" panel from Young Avengers is one of my favorites. Even before I read RR&R and was all into Steve and Tony as Steve/Tony, I saw that picture and I go over to my roommate and I'm like... "Hey o_0" and Shannon's looks at it and responds, "Wow! Gay!" and yeah... yeah it is! <3

Also the (make-out) CPR scene from The Red Zone, the Bagel Scene from New Avengers (with the incredibly slashy sunset), in Avengers Disassembled when Steve believes Tony hasn't been drinking, also the "we are so married and have marriage ESP" in the New Avengers at the Savage Lands.

The Confession in its entirety as well as a few other non-schizoid parts of Civil War including when Cap is upset that his people come to save him when Tony asks to meet him at the stadium to talk about Happy.

Also when Tony cries at Cap's funeral (not very squee at all but so definitive of their relationship) and when he doesn't say a single word after they put Steve back in the ice. ;_;

In Armor Wars when Tony looks into Steve’s eyes and can tell he’s breaking his heart. And Tony's heart is breaking too.

Cap/Iron Man annual in its entirety but especially the parts where they are both walking around in leis and looking like they’re on a Hawaiian vacation, (my brand new icon... =^___^=) and when Tony sacrifices himself to MODOK for Steve, and then Steve is all “MODOK release him!”

The shock to the heart in Execute Program. (they REALLY should have had more Steve in that story arc...)

IM 303- where Cap tells IM they haven’t always seen eye to eye but it was never anything that could interfere with them personally, and that if there is anything he can do for Tony just to let him know because he must feel like the world is crashing down around him. And how cute they are together talking about “being on the ice.” And simply talking and trying to be there for one another like in a real relationship. And then they actually make a dinner date and Tony says "Ok! I’ll call you later at your hotel room (^_~). And Tony not telling him about a fight he was to get in because he’s worried about keeping him safe. (like a good little overprotective boyfriend *petpet*)

In IM Vol3 Iss 73- Cap and Iron Man interaction in this is so nostalgic and cute. I love that they are only talking to each other and are ignoring the people they’re saving… >_>

The awesome Riding Dirty scene, which I’ve only seen in icon form but adore none the less.

The infamous Chameleon Story with Iron Man welcoming a Fake!Cap into his office and shooing everyone away so that they can um… be alone… in his office, with his door closed, and TOTALLY work on why Cap is so beat up (uh-huh).

And finally one of my most very favorite moments (I had to pause and flail around when I read it) it’s from IM Vol 3 #23 and Iron Man is at Carol’s house… and she’s drunk (and he kinda says “OMG what’s that over there!” and she looks… so he punches her out so she can’t go off fighting…) and Tony starts thinking back to when he’d been drinking. He says something like “No one could get through to me. Not my friends, not even Captain America.” And it really stuck with me because it’s like synonymous with saying “My friends could save me not even- the most important one.” Or “-not even the love of my life.” It’s at least where (in any other character’s story arc) they would put the “love of my life” line.

Ok! Ok! I'm done now! Let me know if you need to find any of the scenes I'm talking about.

Avengers v3 #63 (also known as Standoff #3 of 3)

Tony and Thor are trying to beat the crap out of each other, because talking things out just isn't manly enough, and Steve comes in and yells at them and tells Tony that he needs to shut up and turn his brain back on. Why this one, you ask?

Because they just. keep. touching each other. In almost every scene they're in together during the fight, one of them is grabbing for the other's arm, or steadying him, or helping him up, or just plain touching for no apparent reason at all. I'm pretty impressed by all the touching that's managing to go on even when Steve's pissed off.

Also: Tony, according to Steve, has a heart that won't die. Everyone together now: awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Touching. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/000101tt)
Still touching. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/000112et)
Even more touching! (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/00012xwc)

Thor needs a hug. D:

New Avengers Annual #1. The bit where Steve is not at all surprised when Tony starts kicking ass out of nowhere is cute (and Tony is badass. All of you need to read the Annual just for that fight scene), but it's the last page that gets me. Tony is yelling at Jessica (and, for once, I totally understand why he spazzes out -- he's wrong, but it's still understandable), and Steve... his reaction is just so much like the embarrassed spouse: saying "Tony," all disapproving (his expression!), and then apologizing for him:

Seriously, you'd think Tony was actually in the suit. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/0000zy94)

*hugs Jessica, too* ;_;

On a somewhat unrelated note, did anyone else find it a mixture of creepy and cool, the way the armor's movements and 'body' language perfectly mirrored what Tony's would have been had he been physically in it, except that he's sitting down a few buildings away and controlling it (and all the other armor at the same time) mentally?
