Tony and Thor are trying to beat the crap out of each other, because talking things out just isn't manly enough, and Steve comes in and yells at them and tells Tony that he needs to shut up and turn his brain back on. Why this one, you ask?
Because they just. keep. touching each other. In almost every scene they're in together during the fight, one of them is grabbing for the other's arm, or steadying him, or helping him up, or just plain touching for no apparent reason at all. I'm pretty impressed by all the touching that's managing to go on even when Steve's pissed off.
Also: Tony, according to Steve, has a heart that won't die. Everyone together now: awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Touching. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/000101tt) Still touching. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/000112et) Even more touching! (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/00012xwc)
Thor needs a hug. D:
New Avengers Annual #1. The bit where Steve is not at all surprised when Tony starts kicking ass out of nowhere is cute (and Tony is badass. All of you need to read the Annual just for that fight scene), but it's the last page that gets me. Tony is yelling at Jessica (and, for once, I totally understand why he spazzes out -- he's wrong, but it's still understandable), and Steve... his reaction is just so much like the embarrassed spouse: saying "Tony," all disapproving (his expression!), and then apologizing for him:
Seriously, you'd think Tony was actually in the suit. (http://pics.livejournal.com/fire_tears/pic/0000zy94)
*hugs Jessica, too* ;_;
On a somewhat unrelated note, did anyone else find it a mixture of creepy and cool, the way the armor's movements and 'body' language perfectly mirrored what Tony's would have been had he been physically in it, except that he's sitting down a few buildings away and controlling it (and all the other armor at the same time) mentally?
