Announcing: Captain America/Iron Man Remix Madness 2016
To all our Remix Participants: please remember that your Remixes are are due by February 7th, 11pm GMT. (When is that for me?)
You still have a little over a day to get your remix in. If you run into any kind of trouble, please let us know by defaulting or contacting us at cap.im.events@gmail.com.
Remix reveals will happen starting on the 12th and all works will remain anonymous until the final author reveals.

In the meantime we bring you something else to do to shorten the wait for reveals and RBB excitement.
We’ve decided to run a Captain America/Iron Man Remix Madness 2016 round. Everyone is invited to participate and create as many remixes as they want or feel comfortable with from now until reveals happen.
Rules inspired by the original Remix Madness @ Remix Redux
1. For Madness we invite both writers and artists to participate. For art we will consider traditional art and sketches as remixable fanworks. Manips do not count as art for this remix challenge’s purposes.
2. You do not have to have participated in the actual Remix challenge to play. Anyone with an AO3 account can join in right here and now!
3. To play in Captain America/Iron Man Remix Madness 2016, you have to opt in to play here by leaving the URL where your Steve/Tony works can be found as a prompt, along with a list of the universes you've created Steve/Tony stories in, and your safe story or work if you have one. Please also point out how to identify any previously created remixes in your list. (You can only have one safe story or artwork.) To keep it fair, you can only remix someone else if you have opted in to Remix Madness, and you can only remix people who have also opted in. You can opt in to have your stories remixed, but then not actually write/create a remix yourself, if you can’t find anything that inspires you. This is supposed to be a no pressure challenge. Please remember: You are not guaranteed that anyone will create a remix for one of your works either. Also: There are no takebacks. We understand that there are no guarantees that you will find something you want to remix among the works available just as there's no guarantee you'll get any extra remixes of your works by signing up, but that doesn't mean you can withdraw your sign-up after realizing this, because possibly someone has found something of yours they want to remix and has already started writing!
3. To opt in to have your work remixed you do not have to have written a minimum of Steve/Tony stories like for the main Remix challenge and there are no minimum wordcounts to be observed for participation and you do not need to have a minimum amount of art created. One work is the minimum. Anything goes as long as you have a link where people can easily find it. Added for clarity: Everyone who wants to remix in the Remix Madness challenge needs to offer their own works up for remixing. The entry limit for the original Remix Challenge is off (it was 3 Steve/Tony stories of at least 1000 words written), and that is no longer to be observed. You need to have at least one work of any length (could be a drabble) or one piece of art (can be a quick scetch) to offer up for remix though to keep it fair.
4. Once you've opted in by signing up, look through the available prompts, and if something grabs you, go ahead and remix!
5. Your remix must be posted to the Captain America/Iron Man Remix Madness 2016 collection to count and be promoted in the masterposts. (Artists, note, please, that AO3 is not hosting art. Please use embedding to make your art accessible as work inside the collection)
6. Normal remix rules apply -- you can't remix WIPs, the designated safe story/work, or works that were created as remixes of other work. In case of co-created works both creators must be okay with the possibility of remixing.
7. There is no minimum word count for remixes. Sketches are also okay.
8. If you have questions, please email cap.im.events@gmail.com.
Note: if you defaulted on our main remix challenge after the deadline, you can still participate, but it won't count as fulfilling your assignment for that challenge if you post to the Madness collection.
As we do not have any experience with art being allowed in a remix challenge, but know it has been done in other remix challenges, we do not have any helpful descriptions for art remixes (either remixing other art or remixing fic into art or art into fic) up anywhere at this moment. Thus, we invite artists with experiences in those kinds of remix challenges to share their perspectives in comments. We do want to point out that the purpose is the same as stated in the “How to Write a Remix” post we made for writers: This is a remix. It’s about creating your own take on something, putting your own personal spin on things. Remixing is not the same as writing a story for RBB art or illustrating a BB story, rather taking something of a narrative and reinventing it. There is lots of room to interpret this and we are really excited to see what people can come up with in answer to the challenge.
The Remix Madness Collection will be closed on the 24th, when that day's Remix Reveals post will go up. All Madness works will be revealed the day after the last of the Remix Exchange fics have been revealed. Reveals of all authors and creators of both challenges is expected to happen sometime on the 24th.

Also, what are the criteria for if a story is Steve/Tony/Any, or if your remix could be?

OT3 elements are fine in the Remix, but we are a Steve/Tony community at the heart of it, so that should be a central part.
