Preview image: Avengers/Invaders

Hi!
I'm now so looking forward Avengers/Invaders mini that will start soon.

Marvel announced that in this story, Tony will meet Steve again, but this Steve is who came from past timeline, said this--

AVENGERS/INVADERS # 1
The Story: Legends Live Again.
The original Invaders (Captain America , Bucky , Human Torch , Toro , and the Sub-Mariner) return in a twelve issue maxi-series by the award winning team behind EARTH X, Justice and Project Superpowers .The greatest super-team of World War II finds themselves transported from the battlefields of the Second World War to a future they never imagined! Now, the Invaders find themselves confronted by two teams of Avengers who want desperately to believe these heroes are who they say they are, while Tony Stark faces his greatest challenge since the Civil War as he must deal with the “return” of Steve Rogers. Confronted by a world they barely recognize, the Invaders will have to show two teams of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes just what kind of power, courage and sheer determination it took to defeat the forces of unrelenting evil in the Twentieth century. In fact…they may just have to do it again in the Twenty-First.

Marvel already had revealed some preview images and I found this.

Um... Director Stark...? Sir...?

...Okay, I know you love him so much but...!  *want to hug him*

Wow. Do you know what this reminds me of? It's the little room that Lex had in Smallville which was just choc-full of Clark - images, videos, relics.

Clearly, this means yay canon slashBest Friends Forever!

That is so Lex! The only way it could be more Lex was if he kept the bullets and gun under a glass display case.

I love my invaders *snuggles*
thing is if they are characterizing at war Steve correctly he may not immediately /hate/ Tony. He would pragmatically approach the issue and why certain aspects are flawed with the Registration system.

Emotional jackhammer does not necessitate fighting.. I almost think it would be worse to briefly disagree and then work alongside for the duration as it would briefly return the loss and make it new when Steve leaves... if he leaves.

I am angling on the gambit that this is an almost about to get ice frozen alternate realities Cap or something like an invaders- exiles team if this is the case Cap would be able to stay... so even if it may lessen the impact of the time travel. I don't think unless they pull a "and the past people forgot everything they knew of the future thanks to deus ex Emma (insert preferred mind changing person here)."

That would have canonical implications as well and would mean Steve knew and understood the basis of the civil war before it ever happened same with the submariner and it really doesn't jive. So, same history up until that point AU time travelling- that would allow them to impact events and add interest as to whether Steve would choose to remain in this world or return to his own.

::is sad::
my poor poor tony!
i can't think of this as a good thing ;_; because:

1)this steve won't have any memories of current!tony and

2)current!tony won't be allowed to KEEP past!steve...

it's like a cruel zombie ghost of a man he loved, coming to hate on him and then run away into the past yet again... if THIS doesn't break tony... let me rephrase that... this is going to break tony.

...Wow, Tony. That's...impressively stalkerish, right there. Considering the circumstances, it's not quite stalkery-creepy, more oh-my-god-hugs-now, but.

I'm pretty sure that Tony telling past!Steve everything he didn't have a chance to say and then sending him back to the past would break the time-space continuum. I'm not sure I care. It's comic books; they're going to break spacetime anyway.

...

In an interview, it was said that the meeting between these two is going to be 'an emotional jackhammer'. I took that to mean that the emotional aspect of it would be: "WWII!Cap is going to despise Tony, and Tony is going to kill himself be more suicidal than usual snap have a mental breakdown continue to be extremely depressed because the writers can't do anything really extreme to him, like kill him, because the movie is coming out."

I foresee crying. Lots of crying. It might take place off-panel, but I can't see crying not happening. Maybe the Confession again, except this time to a Cap who isn't dead. Possibly a shattering of the time-space continuum. Kang may or may not be involved somehow because he's apparently the only dude who can move through the timestream without fucking it up (according to Marvel, anyway, who is notorious for not following its own rules).

Tony is on the edge. If this doesn't shove him over... well. It's going to shove him over. Or I am going to kidnap every Marvel writer and force them to consult a psychologist before writing anything more involving Tony.

That said, I can't imagine that kind of pain; losing the person you loved more than life in a horrible conflict where you both left the most important things unsaid, and then seeing him alive again and being hit with all kinds of conflicting emotions--the largest of which is likely hope--but then being hit with the news that he's not the person you know and he has no idea who you are, and he probably isn't going to want anything to do with you once he knows what's been going on. You're nothing to him.

Also, I can't find the massive Steve montage creepy, because that's what comic book artists draw when they want to be dramatic. I mean, Tony's not normal, but I'm pretty sure anyone in his position would have gotten a scene like that. Not to mention he talks to computers in his mind and those are all computer screens -- the system could, technically, just be reacting to the image he's seeing without his direction. He'd certainly be in enough shock to be throwing out strong mental signals.
