Wake Up Call: Dreamwidth Open For Business

With the current LJ concerns and some people making the exclusive switch to DW, we've decided to open the Dreamwidth comm for posting again. Feel free to share your fanworks, start discussions, post recs and so on on this comm. We will include stuff posted to the Dreamwidth community in our Monthly Fanwork Newlsetters and might point the rest of the community at discussion posts here.

For now official comm posts and event information will be crossposted ONLY to Livejournal, tumblr. It will not be posted directly to this community journal on Dreamwidth.

As stated in a previous post we will continue to back-up LJ content to DW occasionally, just in case. As imports won't always happen when new announcements go up and even when they happen imports could be slow when DW is busy, any official announcement might arrive here with serious lag.

To make it easier for everyone who has made the switch to keep up to date in real time, we have created the following feeds:

You can subscribe to them to never miss an announcement.

I just went into my own DW settings and changed it to show all entries in my own style, that should be a permanent fix.

And then I joined Cap_Ironman and now have the comm in my drop down menu options. YAY. :^)

The only thing I've written recently was a fairly long (22k) Tony-centric boarding school AU fusion with the classic 'A Little Princess' story. Unfortunately, the role I felt suited Steve best only has him appear at the end, so it's not acceptable as a post here, but now that I've mentioned it, it seems mean not to give it a link.

I'll look into how the CSS here was set up as soon as I have the time for it. I see the glitch happen in my browser too, when I don't use my own style. I don't even know when this was set up. Hopefully we can find a permanent solution for this.

At least there's an easy workaround, if people don't mind having all journals show up in their own style.

Oh, good, I hope you enjoy the fic. It was a fun one to write, -unexpected characters kept showing up when I needed them to move the plot along.

I think it was set up a very long time ago, and DW styles have changed since. I seem to recall the mod team I was part of fixing some of the layout issues across all journals, but I am not sure we ever got to finish that. So it may well be holdover from when the journal was first created. This particular issues was not present then, however.

If you need help, I am not a CSS expert, but might be able to sink some time and effort into it. (Feel free to ignore me too.)
