I guess everyone at least halfway plugged into news media heard of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington dying. That just straight up smothered the good vibe the week had until that point because it hit me on a personal level. Linkin Park's music only has nostalgic quality for me because they stopped making music that I like after their second album, but I worked with Chester's other band Dead by Sunrise for a couple days on their European Tour and some friends & acquaintances of mine were very close friends with him. They are so devastated by this. I'm particularly worried about one friend to whom Chester was like a brother; he just got sober a few weeks ago and now he's got to stomach this while on tour with his own band. Plus through working with Dead by Sunrise and another band, I know a ton of hardcore Linkin Park fans. My facebook feed has been a stream of misery for the last few days and I feel heartbroken for everyone. I haven't even properly realised myself that a guy I talked to and hung out with (even if it was just for a short time) has taken his own life :/
