Wednesday: What Are You Reading?

In the spirit of new comic book day, Wednesdays are dedicated to discussing anything on your reading list right now! Have you picked up any new releases today? Finally started a novel you've been putting off for way too long? Keeping preoccupied with some fanfiction? Don't hesitate to talk about whatever story's on your mind!

Let us know what you've been reading this past week and what's next on your queue! If you have any spoilers in your comment, you can use the following code to help censor them:

Remember to stay positive and constructive in these discussions! If you're not a fan of the comic, book, fanfic, etc. that someone else is enjoying, there's no need to partake in that particular conversation.

I'm still reading Avengers v1, that era written by Roger Stern (I think?), around issues 290 ... some stories are so slow D:

Marvel had a deal recently where you could get a month's free trial of Marvel Unlimited so I've been reading all the comics lately.

I read quite a bit of Deadpool (as he's my fave) including Deadpool Team Up #1, Baby's First Deadpool Book, X-Men Origins: Deadpool, Deadpool Pulp and Spiderman/Deadpool. I also read X-Men Origins: Emma Frost and X-Men Origins: Jean Grey, Agent Carter: S. H. I. E. L. D. 50th Anniversary and Mockingbird: S. H. I. E. L. D. 50th Anniversary.

And I read all the Young Avengers comics up to the 2013 run (I'm currently reading that run now), all of the Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel issues, Bullet Points, 1872, She-Hulk (2014), Black Widow (2014), Silk (2015), Patsy Walker A.K.A. Hellcat (2015) and Mockingbird (2016).

I'm also rereading the Fraction/Aja Hawkeye run from 2013. I started it when it first came out but wasn't able to keep up so I decided to reread/finish.

I highly recommend Mockingbird and Patsy Walker! Patsy features female friendships, cameos from some of your other fave female heroines, LGBTQIA+ representation, and fantastic art. Mockingbird has Bobbi Morse being Bobbi Morse. Do you really need any more of a reason to read?

I've been reading ALL THE STONY FIC on AO3 ... I kinda thought I was too old for falling into a fandom as hard as I have this one, but then I googled "Civil War Fix-it Fic" like two weeks ago and now all my spare time is consumed, consumed, consumed with the wonderful breadth and depth of Stony fic on AO3 and it is magnificent. Also probably not good for my social life, but who cares?

I am also super keen on meeting fellow Stony shippers, as it's a little lonely not having anyone to geek out about them with ... :-)

Thank you! I am really looking forward to it! Right now I am reading my way through lots and lots of fics and am really appreciating both the amount of stories that are out there (my last fandoms were tiny) and the super helpful rec lists that folks have put together.
