Monday: Donate-A-Prompt

Don't we all know this feeling of having too many ideas to write and no time to write them all? Is there this one headcanon that you really want to read but can't write it? Or that frustration when you actually do want to write but you can't come up with anything?

If you have prompts or headcanons that you want to provide for your fellow writers and/or artists, here's the time and place! Anything is welcome, just take note to attach appropriate warnings if applicable.

If you need resources:

Let us know if you have another great resource for prompts not listed here. In case you create something based on these prompts, be sure to link to them here so we can all read them! Or maybe post a short fill directly in the comments!

I'm thinking rom-com aus. Maybe something classic like Roman Holiday with a bored Prince Tony and traveling artist Steve?

Or perhaps something inspired by How to Marry a Millionaire? Steve, despite his reservations, is determined to marry someone rich, but falls for Tony even though he thinks he's poor?

Or maybe something like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with Tony trying to get Steve to break with him before 10 days are over and Steve just trying to hold out for 10 days so his friends will stop setting him up?

Oh oh I love rom-com aus! These are all great.

I also love the idea of a groundhog day au or a Lost in traslation au maybe? I like the idea of the two of them finding each other in an alien kind of place for the two of them.

Oh but if we're talking more classic rom-com stuff, the First Daugther has all that tropey goodness. So maybe Tony goes to college, at last being independent from his parents (and Howard, is pretty much Howard). He's happy, and starts to make friends, and even ends up falling for this cute guy. But what he doesn't know is that Howard had decided that he's too young/he's the heir to the stark family so he hires a bodyguard to protect/keep and eye on Tony without telling him, someone that will do it in secret. The thing that Tony does't know is that the guy he falls for and the guy Howard hires are one and the same, Steve. Cue all the angst and misunderstading, and Steve feeling guilty for lying to Tony, Tony being mad with him. And they end up together in the end because that's how this works :D

oooh good ideas! Speaking of travel, When in Rome, Under the Tuscan Sun, or Leap Year might be good ones too.

Under the tuscan sun! I remember really liking that movie. And it could sort of work in the mcu? Tony going to California, away from his parents mansion that only feels oppressive, and building the Malibu Dream house and Steve, that was working in the construction of said mansion and was shocked to see the billionaire actually working in the construction too (those arms yesss).

(Tony in my mind would be hands on in the building part, specially of his workshop. This is something he's making, creating from scratch, and not some hand me down from Howard)

Only you is a good option for a rom-com with the traveling part (Tho I admit I didn't specially like the characters, they were pretty much crazy, but young rdj made up for it)

Okay, but for Only You, the idea of Tony pretending to be Steve's soulmate is just really getting me.

Back to Under the Tuscan Sun, Tony being hands on with the construction kind of fits in with the fact that Tony built his mansion on those cliffs because people told him he couldn't, the cliffs wouldn't hold it. Like he came up with a whole new type of structure to manage it.
(Actually, when I was thinking Under the Tuscan Sun, I was thinking of War Vet Steve Rogers, still recovering from Peggy moving on while he was gone, deciding to travel to Italy and eventually buy a villa there. Tony could be a neighbor, staying in his mother's old home, or just on vacation or something. idk it's been ages since I've seen the movie)(I like your idea too)

Ohhh!! your under the tuscan sun idea is perfect! Also any story that features Tony's italian side is just so perfect for me.

(Oh I didn't know that about the Malibu Mansion! Leave it to Tony to be so completely petty about people telling him he "couldn't do something" and that "it is completely impossible to do it" and just coming up with a brand new way to do the thing just to show them. Man he is so extra I love it.)

Amnesia with a twist!

[personal profile] willidothefandango 2017-08-08 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ok! How about this, based in the premise to this wonderful McShep fic (If you like Stargate Atlantis and this pairing go read it! Happy by crysothemis):

(I'm thinking 616, just because of their history, but I could see it working for MCU too)

Tony is hit by some magic/weird science/ancient artifact that messes with his memories and make him forget. The catch? He remembers everything, being an avenger, all his friends and who he is, the only things he forgot is Steve Rogers.

Is like he was carved out of his memory, but every time someone asks about some event or instance with Steve, he was either replaced or completely omitted of it.
What is even worse, they figure out that the device/magic/thingie was suposed to erase something that produced trauma or caused distress to Tony.

So how come the one thing that seemed to cause pain to Tony, even after all he has been through is Steve? And seeing Tony so seemingly carefree now, how can Steve try to make him remember him if that will hurt Tony?

(It's actually because Tony is in love with Steve and these boys are so slow man)

Oh man, you are so right, it is perfect for 616! Memory loss angst hurts so good.

I kinda wrote that! It's not happy and I've been yelled at multiple times for being mean to Tony and Steve both.
Here: as long as we remember
