Wednesday: What Are You Reading?

In the spirit of new comic book day, Wednesdays are dedicated to discussing anything on your reading list right now! Have you picked up any new releases today? Finally started a novel you've been putting off for way too long? Keeping preoccupied with some fanfiction? Don't hesitate to talk about whatever story's on your mind!

Let us know what you've been reading this past week and what's next on your queue! If you have any spoilers in your comment, you can use the following code to help censor them:

Remember to stay positive and constructive in these discussions! If you're not a fan of the comic, book, fanfic, etc. that someone else is enjoying, there's no need to partake in that particular conversation.

I read Captain America 25 and Secret Empire 8 and I LOVED BOTH.

AI TONY IS SO SAD AND SO PRETTY AND SO VERY TONY!!! And he's still working to save them all *ugly sobs* And oh god the birthday cake, Tony, baby. I'm so upset no one treated him seriously :( He needs hugs, okay.

I stopped reading SE when

Helmut put Bucky on a rocket bomb and shot him into oblivion.

But I just saw a post on tumblr that mentions Bucky, so I have to know: Is Bucky alive?? What happened to him?

Also, I've been getting worried about Invincible Iron Man because other characters close to Tony seem to think Tony is going to become evil without a body to keep him good, but it seems like in SE he is a solid dude looking out for saving Steve. Is there a conflict of the writing between the two books, do you think, or does it all tie in well, or will the IIM characters find they are wrong? I feel like SE is maybe a little further along in the timeline, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Bucky's back. Here's what happened - Namor recused him from the ocean after the rocket thing, and he's actually been kinda hiding in plain sight as Namor's somewhat right-hand man.

With SE and Iron Man - SE is set sometime in the future, so chances are there is going to be some sort of hand waving that brings things back to the timeline in Invincible Iron Man. So yeah, two different timelines. (I think.)

I caught up on the most recent run of Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) today, and I'm pretty angry I waited so long to do so. It's a lot of fun and Kate's a blast. Highly recommended, especially if you're looking for something woman-led and woman-written.

I'm reading the 90s Avengers, about #350 of volume 1 and gosh, that was a dark time for the Avengers. Some arcs are very good, but it's like the authors have no idea of what they are doing, of what characters they want to write.
