Re: Need a canon moment reference

Hi Navaan!

I've decided to go with a multiverse story for my Big Bang fic -- the general idea is that AA Steve gets lost in the multiverse looking for AA Tony and Kang in the meantime is manipulating time streams so that Steve and Tony don't become or remain superheroes, the idea being that they influence each to be heroes and be better, all the best parts of Steve and Tony. Steve and Tony discover how much they need each other as they travel through the multiverse. So it's very clear what Tony learns from 1872 (1872 Tony becomes a hero because of the death of 1872 Steve). (Resolution depends on AA Tony convincing Iron Man: Armored Adventures Tony to spring Steve free from the containment unit and return to being Iron Man.)

So I was hoping to find a multiverse event that would be a parallel for Steve in a similar way.

I thought that there was a 616 main universe example. But then again, the problem might be fundamental in that Tony has these moments of what Steve has meant for him, Steve not so much (different people, different influences). So maybe what I need is a moment/event when Steve sees what Tony means for him ...

I'm more familiar with early canon stuff -- although Steve's reaction to returning to the mansion and discovering that all the original Avengers quit, except for him could work -- but that is more about losing Tony, not being inspired to continue to be a hero because of Tony.

What kind of superhero is Steve without a team and without Iron Man? Steve is better as person with a team and Tony balances him out -- but do we get a moment/event when Steve reflects on this?

616 is just more fertile ground for these explorations and I'm not as familiar with it all as I am with other canons.

And this is probably a Bad Bad Bad idea to get into a story/plot that might be too ambitious for me.

Thank you -- I'm sorry about how long my answer is ....
