Thursday: Creator's Workshop

Need help with creating the atmosphere for that sleazy bar Tony likes to hang out in? What would a college student in the 1980s spend his money on? Looking for someone to help beta read your fic or just cheer you on? How do people draw hands, damnit? How do you make your neighbour's dog stop make an appearance on your podfic? Ask a weird question that now taints your search history but still have not found the answer to? Would you like to share a great resource that you found recently?
Here's the place to direct all your questions (no judgement, no shame!), offer help, share some advice, cheer people on, or just chat about your current projects! Are you working on your Big Bang fic? Having fun with the Tiny Reverse Bang? Let everyone know what you're working on, and if your fellow fans and creators can be of any assistance!
You can find our list of resources at the journal! If you know of any other, let us know!
Re: Need a canon moment reference
Do you need it to be specifically Tony inspiring Steve to heroics? Or just him inspiring Steve in general? Because I would take a different approach to the latter if it was possible. While, yes, Steve does help inspire Tony to heroics, which is sometimes what he needs, I think that Steve has a different personal struggle, in that the heroics are NOT necessarily always good for him. So, Tony's influence on Steve is more toward caring about himself as a person rather than just being everyone's hero, and also questioning himself and facing his own stubbornness. I think there are more canon examples of that if you need this!
Re: Need a canon moment reference
Awww, thanks so much!
I'm kind of riffing on the trope of the supervillain trying to stop the heroes from becoming heroes by stopping them from becoming superheroes. The supervillain in this story realizes that Tony and Steve would be superheroes if they were in each other's lives.
The Tony part is easy -- the idea being that if Tony doesn't have Steve in his life, he bounces back and forth out of being a superhero, etc. The plot hinges on Tony convincing a Steve-less Tony to find his Steve.
I would like this to be on both sides -- you're absolutely right about the importance of Tony in Steve's life, because Steve would drive himself into the ground without a personal life. Avengers Assemble did a story like that (the Secret Avengers episode) even. If I did that, I'd have to figure out how to build to Steve's realization -- maybe it's better to focus on AA Steve missing his Tony and building up how in lots of universes, Tony helps ground him and widens his world. Hmmm.

Good luck on working things out! I hope you find a solution that works for you :)
