Wednesday: What Are You Reading?

In the spirit of new comic book day, Wednesdays are dedicated to discussing anything on your reading list right now! Have you picked up any new releases today? Finally started a novel you've been putting off for way too long? Keeping preoccupied with some fanfiction? Don't hesitate to talk about whatever story's on your mind!
Let us know what you've been reading this past week and what's next on your queue! If you have any spoilers in your comment, you can use the following code to help censor them:
Remember to stay positive and constructive in these discussions! If you're not a fan of the comic, book, fanfic, etc. that someone else is enjoying, there's no need to partake in that particular conversation.

On the surface it's about a group of differing species setting out on a risky, once in a lifetime mission but really it's about gender, race, sexuality, and humanity.
I've been taking my time reading it because it's one of those rare books where I want to savor every word. I could tell it was going to become one of my new favorite books of all time after only about 100 ebook pages.
I'm also reading Sweet Home by Carys Bray which is fine but not for me and I'm also making my way through Meg Cabot's Heather Wells series which are fun but nothing to write home about.
Comics wise, I'm dipping in and out of Alias and all I really have to say about it is: I adore Jessica Jones.

Meg Cabot SHOULD be a guilty pleasure of mine, but every time I so much as crack one of her books, my muse pops out of the woodwork groaning, "You rang?" Hmm... maybe I should get on that more.
I'm sad this week, so I'm doing my comfort reads (not that you asked), lots of Robin McKinley and Theodore Sturgeon. In non-fiction, I'm finishing Life in a Jar which, once it gets past I AM WRITING MODERN TEENAGERS REALISTICALLY AND RELATABLY slog at the beginning, is an absolutely freaking fascinating tale of baby thief resisting Nazis in the Warsaw ghetto...
