Wednesday: What Are You Reading?

In the spirit of new comic book day, Wednesdays are dedicated to discussing anything on your reading list right now! Have you picked up any new releases today? Finally started a novel you've been putting off for way too long? Keeping preoccupied with some fanfiction? Don't hesitate to talk about whatever story's on your mind!

Let us know what you've been reading this past week and what's next on your queue! If you have any spoilers in your comment, you can use the following code to help censor them:

Remember to stay positive and constructive in these discussions! If you're not a fan of the comic, book, fanfic, etc. that someone else is enjoying, there's no need to partake in that particular conversation.

Read a bunch of Waid/Samnee runs recently, namely Daredevil v3 and Black Widow v6 (although I definitely need to pick up DD v4 for that Samnee art action). I thought both runs were solid, especially if you isolate BW v6 by itself and ignore Natasha's later actions in SE, coughs. And DD has so many good Foggy feeeeels and Matt-and-Foggy feeeeels. (Apparently they worked on BW in a very Marvel-style, as in Samnee made most of the story decisions on a micro-level and Waid would follow up afterwards with the dialogue. So if you're a big Samnee fan, I strongly recommend this run, if only to ogle at his decisions.)

I read Secret Empire Omega but it was seriously lacking in Tony content. I guess that's something to fic later.

And all my friends are probably sick of hearing about it, but I've read the Shades of Magic trilogy and I'M DYING OF FEELS OH MY GOD. It hurt me a lot.

A general comment: I love "what... Wednesday" so much. You know the bit in Life the Universe, and Everything,, where a pair of jaded, pterodactyl-headed party aliens shriek, "A new pleasure! A new pleasure!" in delight when presented with a bottle of retsina wine? Like that, only I have yet to have a Stony fan recommendation make me think, "Huh. And they say that animals actually LIKE Pine-Sol."

I adore you guys.

ETA: and thank you, mods!

Student papers. So many student papers.
Does that count?

Only if you pause to consider whether each paper is a healthier romantic dynamic than Twilight. Bonus points if you write it on the top page as a comment, extra bonus points if you teach advanced mathematics.

(In all seriousness, yay, you! Hang in there! The end is in sight! Or maybe a bonfire!)

HAHAHAHAHA I should totally do that! Alas they're USLit essays, so it's not as bizarre a comment as it could be :-)

Is is bad that I kind of want one of one of those essays to be on "A Rose for Emily"?

...yeah, it's bad. I still want that to happen.
